The time is upon us. The very first large-scale event for Knights of the Ether: Blightfell is almost here. The Lightbringer’s zenith approaches…
There are 3 main things you need to know about Mydsummer Madness.
- The Mint: Villagers are mintable characters on Arbitrum that give you access to the earning portion of our deck-building roguelike game, Blightfell.
- The Event: Mydsummer Madness starts on June 21st and lasts for 3 weeks. There will be 3 weekly Leaderboards boasting a total of over $300,000 worth of prizes.
- The Harvester: The Thundermane Harvester from Bridgeworld is opening and 3,000 Ancient Permits with a capacity of 2,000 $magic each are up for grabs by Mydsummer Madness players.

The Mint
There are two types of Villagers available to mint on June 21st
Basic Villagers
- PRICE: Free
- SUPPLY: Unlimited Supply during the 3-week event
- LIMIT: 1 per wallet
- UTILITY: Grant access to Blightfell and the ability to earn Common and Uncommon Gear
- RESTRICTIONS: Cannot compete in Leaderboards or sell Gear
- TRADABILITY: Soulbound forever
Blessed Villagers
- PRICE: $33 usd in either $magic, $eth, or fiat
- SUPPLY: Unlimited supply during the 3-week event
- LIMIT: 10 per wallet
- UTILITY: Grant full access to Blightfell and the ability to earn all rarities of gear
- RESTRICTIONS: CAN compete in Leaderboards and sell Gear
- TRADABILITY: Soulbound until the end of Early Access
So which method of minting is best for you?
If you just want to try out the game and join in on the fun with the rest of the community, then the Basic Villager is for you.
If you want to earn some gear, deck out your character with the coolest pieces and test your prowess in the Leaderboards, then a Blessed Villager is for you.
If you want to do all of the above AND you want to sell the rare gear that you find on your expeditions to make some sweet, sweet gains? Plus a shot at the Bridgeworld Ancient Permits that are up for grabs? Then you will want multiple Blessed Villagers, and maybe even a Knight, which gets 2 expeditions per 24 hours.
The Event

Important Points to Highlight
This is the first of two MADNESS events during 2023. So what does that mean?
The only way to earn Gear as a Villager or a Knight is to earn it during a MADNESS event. The Royal Houses’ Armory is only so full of weapons and armor, they can’t keep up with unlimited demand. So if you want to deck your Knights and Villagers out with the rarest of Gear, you’re going to have to do it during the MADNESS event, or pick it up on the secondary market afterwards.
New handcrafted maps every 24 hours with millions of variations in the meta.
- Fight through hordes of goblins in GOBLINTOWN or maneuver your way through a map full of Elite monsters with a starting HP of 1 in 1337F311, F around and find out against only floating and flying monsters in FLIGHT SCHOOL, the possibilities are endless.
Daily competitions to test your approach to each and every playstyle.
- Every 24 hours new play styles are rewarded with leaderboards centered around different novelty achievements. One day you’ll need to beat the speed-running record to claim the prize, the next day you’ll need to beat the boss with max health. The meta is ever-changing.
Weekly leaderboards for the best of the best to bring home epic digital and IRL prizes.
- Skill is paramount to our vision for Blightfell and we want our game to feel as competitive as possible. The best prizes will go to the top 10 players at the end of every week. Your top scores from each 24 hour period will all be combined to qualify you for the weekly leaderboard prizes, so be ready to test your mettle day in and day out. But don’t fret, if you don’t make it in Week 1, there’s always Weeks 2 and 3!
Single elimination bracket tournament
- In the final week of Mydsummer Madness, the top 10 players from the first two weekly leaderboards will compete for insane prizes in a traditional bracket elimination mode. (8 players and 2 alternates from each leaderboard)
Partner events with fellow TreasureDAO cartridges and some special guests.
- Calling the best and brightest from AI Arena, Battlefly, Bitmates, The Beacon, Kuroro Beasts, Pirate Nation, Realm, Tales of Elleria, Zeeverse and MORE. Ready yourselves for the MYDSUMMER MADNESS and compete amongst your fellow cartridges for the honor of the Royal Houses.
Meme, art, character, and lore contests to get those creative juices and healthy competition flowing.
- Are you a maestro of meme’ing? An Artíst? A lord of lore? This is your time to shine… and of course win some prizes along the way. We love the KOTE IP and we want you to help us build it!
Weekly Alternate Reality Games (ARG’s) for full immersion and tantalizing riddles.
- Chase clues across the multiverse and learn about Blightfell lore in the process.

The Harvester
Thundermane approaches, and MAGIC is ripe for the harvesting.

Harvesters are ancient beasts, imbued with an arcane force in Bridgeworld, set free to roam the multiverse. Villagers and Knights must scavenge Blightfell for Ancient Permits left behind by The Changer in order to approach these beasts and extract one of the most precious resources known to man, MAGIC.
As the final new harvester to be opened by Treasure’s Bridgeworld, Thundermane will be available for participants in Mydsummer Madness only. Here are a few key points about the Harvester and what you need to do to be eligible to stake your magic inside it to earn a return.
3,000 KOTE Ancient Permits will be emitted during the 3-week Mydsummer Madness event. Each Ancient Permit grants it’s holder the ability to stake up to 2,000 MAGIC inside of the Harvester.
Here’s how the Permits will be distributed:
- 1,700 Ancient Permits will be allotted to holders of Oathkeeper’s Insignias (the KOTE season 1 battle pass) on a 1–1 basis. (Read more about the Insignia’s here: https://medium.com/@KnightsOfTheEther/the-oathkeepers-insignia-f9d8106e92b9 )
- 700 more Ancient Permits will be attainable for Oathkeeper’s Insignias holders through achievement leaderboards in Mydsummer Madness each week, based around hardcore playstyles in Blightfell.
- Finally, the last 500 Ancient Permits can be won by both Villagers and Knights through various missions on the regular weekly leaderboards.
The KOTE Harvester will be open for an estimated 6 months and the Council of Elders, comprised of Harvester experts with plenty of Legions and Squires amidst their ranks will be convened to run the best strategy. Coordination and skill will be needed to compete against other Harvesters running simultaneously.
The KOTE team commits to using at least 50% of its MAGIC emissions from its Ancient Permits to ensure the highest boost and least corruption possible for Thundermane.
After Mydsummer Madness
But, this is just the beginning. Next, we’re expanding.
- Expanding our core game loop to include a second stage and Gear buff functionality.
- Leveling up Squires and its integrations with our core game Blightfell.
- Leaning into interoperability between KOTE and other games including Bridgeworld, Realm, Lifeverse, Ethernal Elves, and more.
- Reaffirming transparency and co-creation of Blightfell with our community as we take the first leap towards our PvP game.
- Elevating the vision of Merlyn Games to include a new infrastructure initiative for games built by communities leveraging blockchain.
