Starting screen for Lamina1 Playground testing

Attention Lamina1 creators, collectors, and NFT enthusiasts: Our first set of NFT minting, listing, and buying features are now ready for testing on the Lamina1 Testnet.

To celebrate the launch, Lamina1 is rolling out a special set of Quests this week designed to pressure-test key functionalities for builders hoping to launch future NFT marketplaces and toolsets on the platform — and to continue showcasing the winning artists who submitted to last month’s NFT Creator Competition.

Read on below for an explainer and walkthrough of the Quests you can complete to get onboarded and familiarized with the new Lamina1 NFT Playground. You can also check out a full walkthrough of the testing site with the L1 engineering team on the Lamina1 YouTube here.

A rundown of this week’s Quests on Crew3

Note: We will be announcing a second collection of winners and a few more advanced NFT features for testing at the beginning of next week. Stay tuned for updates and Happy Questing.

Getting Started

To start testing out new NFT functionalities on Lamina1 and complete this week’s Quests, direct your browser (Chrome preferred) to https://nftplayground.lamina1.network/.

This will direct you to a new custom-built site designed to pressure-test key functionalities for Open Metaverse creators hoping to build future NFT marketplaces and toolsets on Lamina1.

Note that it is not a finalized marketplace UI (nor is L1 currently in the business of building NFT marketplaces). However, we have tried to make it easy for testers of all experience levels to begin interacting with NFTs on Lamina1. If providing feedback for Quest XP this week, please bear this in mind.

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet

Video walkthrough of Step 1: Connect Your Wallet

Your first step to getting onboarded to the new L1 NFT Playground is to connect your Metamask wallet app using the ‘Connect Wallet’ button in the upper right corner of the test site.

Note that you cannot use your Lamina1 Web Wallet alone to do this and will need to connect it to Metamask if you have not yet already.

If you need assistance connecting your L1 Web Wallet to Metamask, visit the documentation link here.

2. Head to ‘My NFTs’ to Generate Your First Test Batch

Video walkthrough of Step 2: Generate Your First Test Batch

Once connected, direct your attention to the menu on your left, and click on the ‘My NFTs’ tab. This tab contains a specialized NFT wallet designed to randomly generate and hold up to 5 featured NFTs from our Week 01 Creator Competition Collection.

To generate your first test batch, click the “X Mints Left” button on the upper right up to 5 times. This will give you a collection of 5 NFTs you can now list and “sell” to other Lamina1 testers via the ‘Browse NFT Listings’ tab.

Simply click on the image to investigate the details and artist info for each NFT you generate. A card will appear and show you the listing, price, and other relevant details for each NFT in your collection.

Additionally, keep an eye out for the pop-up in the bottom right corner of your screen. This will contain a secret code you will need to complete the “Randomly generate up to 5 NFTs from the NFT Creator Competition Collection, then list one for sale” Quest on Crew3.

3. List at Least 1 NFT from Your Collection to ‘Browse NFT Listings’

Video walkthrough of Step 2: List an NFT

Next, choose 1 NFT you’d like to list from your collection (we recommend selling a duplicate to help you achieve the next Quest, below).

To do so, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of the NFT listing and select ‘List for Sale.’ Then review the transaction details in Metamask and hit ‘Confirm’ to list it on the ‘Browse NFT Listings’ marketplace.

To validate the transaction, copy and paste the token ID provided on the confirmation pop-up into the new L1 Explorer. You can also find the transaction ID in Metamask and confirm it this way.

You can also click on your Metamask to see if you have received the 1.5 L1 tokens for selling your artwork — or navigate to the ‘Browse NFT Listings’ page to see if it populated.

If you encounter any issues while generating or listing NFTs on the Playground, feel free to post in #testnet-discussion or #l1-helps-l1 on the Lamina1 Discord for assistance.

4. Buy Any NFTs You Didn’t Generate in Your Test Batch & List Remaining Duplicates

Video walkthrough of Step 4: Buy NFTs

To redeem XP for the “Collect All 5 NFTs From This Week’s Winners” Quest, navigate to the ‘Browse NFT Listings’ tab on your right and scroll to find any NFTs you did not randomly generate using the ‘My NFTs’ tab.

Click on the three dots on the upper right corner of the NFT Listing you’d like to add to your test batch (or click into the listing itself), then select ‘Buy Now’ to buy that NFT and bring it into your ‘My NFTs’ wallet.

Repeat the listing and purchasing steps shown above until you have collected all 5 unique NFTs from this week’s featured artists. Take a screenshot of the ‘My NFTs’ page with the full collection, and upload it to Crew3 to redeem your XP.

Note: By design, your ‘My NFT’ wallet can only hold up to 5 NFTs at one time. To free up space, you will need to ‘List’ any duplicates you generate and ‘Purchase’ those you do not. To simplify the trading process, all NFTs are automatically priced at 1.5 L1 tokens.

If you do not have enough L1 tokens to make your first NFT purchase, visit the Lamina1 Faucet here.

What’s Next?

Next week, we’ll be expanding the L1 NFT Playground to test more advanced capabilities builders and creators need to launch their own NFT collections on Lamina1.

We will also be releasing a second L1 Creator Competition Collection with 5 more featured artists from the L1 community.

In the meantime, stay tuned, start collecting, and as always — Happy Questing!
