Introducing the first 5 Open Metaverse Creators who will be featured in this week’s upcoming launch of the Lamina1 NFT Playground.
Attention Metaverse builders: NFTs are coming this week to the Lamina1 Testnet. To celebrate this exciting next step in our development as an Open Metaverse platform that’s by creators, for creators, we launched an NFT Creator Competition earlier this month calling artists across the L1 community to submit works for a chance to be some of the first-ever minted assets on the Lamina1 blockchain.
The response was incredible. After sorting through over 500 unique NFT submissions from builders and creators across the L1 community, we have selected 10 artists we believe share our vision for the emerging Open Metaverse while demonstrating the creativity, potential, and diversity of what digital assets will look like in the next online generation.
Without further ado, get to know the first 5 featured creators we will be rolling out on Testnet later this week to begin evaluating NFT listing, buying, and trading mechanisms on the future L1 blockchain — key components of future marketplaces, creator tools, and platforms we’re encouraging Open Metaverse builders to develop.

Creative Context: “My vision is to explore the concept of community, and to link people by means of shared symbols. As a creator, I am fascinated with the idea of identity in the Metaverse, and how freeing it can be to have a digital presence that is not necessarily tied to one’s corporeal form.”
About the Artist: “I’m a traditionally-trained illustrator with a focus in comic-book illustration, and I gravitate towards portraits, especially of original characters. In this case, I wanted to create a series of PFPs referencing knights — LaminKnights — as a badge of recognition for those people who’ve been involved in Testnet.”

2. Cyborg Kittens: Igor7566 | Duality#0504
Creative Context: “I just love to draw and invent different characters and create collections from them. Designed and drawn specifically for the competition, there are 2 more NFTs from this series in development.”
About the Artist: “I’m a 2D artist, working in gemdev for over 10 years. I also enjoy creating different collections of NFTs with mostly different characters.”

3. Endless Summer: rainecreative #2934
Creative Context: “Born in Jamaica and growing up in Connecticut, I have always felt that I have been living on the outside of two cultures. I create art that inspires one to look beyond what is in front of them and dream of a reality that fills their heart and soul. I used MidJourney to bring this creation to life, using about 70 words in my final prompt recipe. It took about 1–2 hours a day over several months to train the AI in this specific style and to guide it to interpret all the elements I was seeking. The model in the photo is inspired by a science fiction story I am writing: The Trion Trilogy. The image depicts the main character Lana.”
About the Artist: “Award-winning fashion designer, Nova Lorraine, is a Storyteller, Author, and Keynote Speaker who has launched several brands, including Raine Magazine, Pink Kangaru podcast network, and Raine Drops.io. Nova has a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from the University of Connecticut and is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, as well as the NASA T2X | TCRP Tech Accelerator. She spends her free time writing books and traveling with her family of six.”

4. Dive: Carrie Able #3336
Creative Context: “Dive was created as an immersive painting to reflect the fire of the human spirit through the simultaneous joy and pain of the human experience. This is a still image of a Virtual Reality painting created while wearing a headset and painting mid-air. Tools used for the creation of my works include Open Brush, Adobe Medium, Unity, and Blender.”
About the Artist: “Carrie Able is an internationally renowned multidisciplinary artist, creative thought leader, and Metaverse pioneer. Her expansive practice implements the use of extended reality tech, new media, cryptocurrency, Web3.0, music, live performance, oil painting, and poetry. Having incorporated immersive technology into traditional art spaces since 2017, Able is an early innovator of the Metaverse and an adopter of blockchain technology.”

Creative Context: “Arkayah is a unique NFT collection featuring exquisite depictions of female angels. Each NFT in this collection is a stunning representation of the divine feminine, designed to embody strength, grace, and beauty. My goal/vision as a creator is to create innovative and visually stunning digital artworks that are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.”
About the Artist: “I am a self-taught traditional and digital artist from La Union, Philippines. I developed a deep interest in art at a young age and spent my time honing my skills with various art mediums, including pastel, acrylic, and graphite. As I grew older, my love for the arts continued to flourish and I became particularly interested in web design, graphic design, and digital painting. In June 2021, I made my debut in the NFT scene, and I’ve had the privilege of participating in numerous local and international NFT conventions and art exhibitions. These include San Diego NFT Con 2022, NFT Expoverse L.A. 2022, Coinfest Asia 2022, Albay Multimedia Arts Convention 2022, Art Fair Philippines 2023, and others.”

What’s Next?
The Lamina1 NFT Playground is currently in active testing with our internal teams and select L1 creators, and will roll out to the rest of the community later this week. This launch will be accompanied by a number of limited-edition Quests and tutorials encouraging L1 builders to buy, trade, and engage with all our winning artworks — so make sure to get to know them and their creators now.
