Introducing the next 5 Open Metaverse Creators who will be featured in the upcoming launch of the Lamina1 NFT Playground.

The next 5 winning artworks from this month’s Lamina1 NFT Creator Competition

Attention Metaverse builders: NFTs are coming soon to the Lamina1 Testnet. To celebrate this exciting next step in our development as an Open Metaverse platform, we launched an NFT Creator Competition earlier this month calling artists across the L1 community to submit works for a chance to be some of the first-ever minted assets on the Lamina1 blockchain.

The response was incredible. After sorting through over 500 unique NFT submissions from builders and creators across the L1 community, we have selected 10 artists we believe share our vision for the emerging Open Metaverse while demonstrating the creativity, potential, and diversity of what digital assets will look like in the next online generation.

Without further ado, get to know the next 5 featured creators we will be rolling out on Testnet later this week to begin evaluating NFT listing, buying, and trading mechanisms on the future L1 blockchain — key components of future marketplaces, creator tools, and platforms we’re encouraging Open Metaverse builders to develop.

As always, stay tuned on the Lamina1 Discord for updates and upcoming Quest drops that will roll out as we progress.

  1. Chromatic Fusion #80: Technatogy #2576

Creative Context: “Our seeming logical and conceptual separation of the term ‘nature’ from ‘technology’ is an artificial concept, meant to ease navigating our world and serves the purpose of putting things into boxes. I touch on this artificially created distinction with the use of artificially created interpretation. What if a machine, that is man-made and built with technology, interprets the inexistence of this artificial separation from the perspective of an organic intelligent being?”

About the Artist: “Technatogy is an NFT creator that blends technology & nature in bold digital artworks. Cutting-edge tech & AI create unique pieces that challenge what’s possible.

2. Recalibrator: mOnād #5357

Creative Context: “My intention with this series was to find a way to conceptualize the philosophy of chaos and order — both visually and musically. My genesis collection is a series of eight pieces of 3D animation and audio that reflects these concepts. I created it through explorations with a 3D software and a synthesizer with music production software. The visuals and sounds are created to match the moving and changing of this duality as a metaphor to the human condition.”

About the Artist: “I’m an Iranian/Australian digital artist with a background in design. My work explores the intersections of philosophy, digital technology, and visual design — drawing inspiration from the complexity of the human experience through the use of abstract forms and visuals. Creating immersive experiences brings together my skills in design, 3D, and music. It is a medium for me to explore life’s bigger questions — to create a sense of wonder through narrative and image-making and my aim is to challenge perceptions and inspire deeper thinking about what it means to be human.

3. Samnis | Vox: EL | MALAMAYA #1998

Creative Context: “A voxel avatar of a Samnite Gladiator in ancient Rome, made for a coliseum-type game in The Sandbox Metaverse. I used the VoxEdit software to create a voxel avatar of the Samnite Gladiator, and then I rendered it in Blender.”

About the Artist: “Emmanuel Lorenzo Lagrisola Bonuan, also known as EL | MALAMAYA, is a visionary artist and entrepreneur who is passionate about pushing the boundaries of creative expression in the metaverse. As the CEO and Founder of XOVOX Labs, a Metaverse Development Studio based in the Philippines, he is on a mission to revolutionize the way people experience art and entertainment in virtual worlds.

4. Chromomagnetism: nuvoletta #7532

Creative Context: “A meditation on the dilution of intended frequency, Chromomagnetism offers a non-euclidean totem for liminal thoughts. This still was created from video art using a series of mirror and feedback layers originating in a foursquare of red, yellow, green, and blue. The additive and subtractive nature of light over time, with many layers, reveals patterns and light combinations.”

About the Artist: “Rebecca Nuvoletta is a multidisciplinary artist working in video, light sculpture, voice, and interactive installation. Much of her work employs the infusion of the sacred gaze into digital, found, and recycled objects combined with emergent technology plastic and light mediums. Heavily influenced by academic studies in classical music as well as her involvement in NYC’s underground electronic art and music, Nuvoletta’s work explores life on the edge of the emerging fractal. She is a member of the art collective Disorient, involved in acculturation and art installations in New York City, Los Angeles, San Diego, deserts of the southwest United States and at Burning Man.”

5. Marilyn Monroebot: Sholti #4019

Creative Context: “Each picture comes with Audio (text, music and effects). My canvas is the screen and all the paper snippets act as little pixels, that together make the larger picture visible. This picture reflects, what the system has made out of Norma Jean. Marilyn Monroe is a mix of human and machine, that is continuously optimized for the entertainment industry, which simply needs to work when the button is pressed. She was just a function.”

About the Artist: “I am a collage artist from Berlin. I use old magazines and newspapers for my artworks. I cut them into thousands of little pieces & glue them on a canvas to create a whole new picture. I always say: ‘The real artist isn‘t me. The real artist is your mind!’ It connects the paper scratches & lets you see the new big picture. My art activates your brain and is a Form of Meditation for your mind.
