Learn To Love Your Life, No Matter How Tough It Seems

We all go through hard times.

We all have things that we’d love to change about our lives or even about ourselves.

Maybe you’d like a bigger house or maybe more friends or maybe you’d like to be taller.

Whatever it is, we all have things that we can complain about.

But even if we do change those things, we would still find something that we can complain about.

“However mean your life is, meet it and live it; do not shun it and call it hard names. It is not so bad as you are. It looks poorest when you are richest. The fault-finder will find faults even in paradise. Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poor-house.” — Henry David Thoreau

As Thoreau said it “The fault-finder will find faults even in paradise”.

You just have to learn to love your life as it is and you have to learn to love yourself as you are because if you don’t, even if you do change your life or yourself, you’ll still be able to find something that you don’t like. And you’ll never ever be satisfied even when you get the things that you wanted.

You’ll still be able to find something to complain about.

So learn to love your life, struggles and all!

And learn to love yourself, flaws and all!

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t complain, we all do that, it’s a natural reaction that we cannot seem to really help.

But instead of just complaining “My life is horrible!” ; “I’m ugly!” ; “I want a bigger house!” ; “I want to live somewhere else!” etc… learn to see the silver lining about your situation. Learn to love yourself in those moments. Learn to appreciate the little things that you have. Learn to appreciate what makes you unique and learn to appreciate the unique path that you are on.

Learn to appreciate your life, even the hard times and the not so glamorous parts because they are a part of you no matter what. They are the things that will make you stronger and help you build your character so even if they are not that great right now, just learn to be thankful for them.

If you don’t learn to appreciate the life that you have now despite all the struggles, then you’ll never be happy even when you change your life around! And what’s the point in that?

So learn to love what you have now so when you have more you can be even more grateful and you’ll be able to look back at your journey and see how truly beautiful this all was.
