Finally, young millennials have their own tablet.

Samsung’s new ultra-thin Galaxy Tab S5e, which the company announced on Friday, is its first tablet aimed directly at young, tech-savvy millennials and, I guess, their specific needs.

The slab sits between Samsung’s ultra-affordable, content-consumption-focused Tab A and the productivity, creativity and security-focused Tab S4. Samsung is offering the metal-backed Tab S5e — the “e” stands for “essential (why it’s not Tab S5m the world will never know) — in Silver, Black and, yes, the millennial favorite, Gold.

Leaving aside the generational focus, the, $399.99 Tab 5se is a pretty exciting tablet entry. At 5.5 mm thick, it’s 22% thinner than the Tab S4 and a couple millimeters thinner than Apple’s $329 iPad. It’s also a lightweight, coming in at just 400 grams. The iPad weighs 469 grams (roughly 1 lb.).

The screen is also noteworthy. It’s a 2560x1600 sAMOLED 16:10 ratio display surrounded by thin, roughly quart-inch bezels. For audio, Samsung packed in quad AKG speakers that support Dolby Atmos and, according to Samsung, they even adjust audio depending on how you’re holding the device. I’m sure…
