Don’t worry, it’s not a bad joke. But it is good news for Australian jobs.

That’s because we’re giving small businesses, like the ones below, the opportunity to get ahead by lowering their taxes, opening new markets and making it easier for them to invest and employ more Australians.

A.H. Beard Mattresses

A. H. Beard is a family-owned business that’s been making mattresses since 1899. They’ve innovated and improved their products over time, and now they’re increasing their exports to China at a massive rate.

Thanks to the China-Australia export agreement, businesses like A. H. Beard have better access the Chinese market, leading to increased sales, growth in their businesses and more jobs right here in Australia.

Mornington Peninsula Brewery

The Mornington Peninsula Brewery has grown from just an idea in 2008 to a successful exporting business today.

Trade agreements negotiated by the Coalition Government have helped them export their craft beers to the world and grow their business.

From 1 July, they will also benefit from tax cuts, giving them a greater capacity to invest in Australia, expand their business and create more jobs.

The Flower Nook

Sophie Kresevic is an Adelaide florist who is expanding her small business, employing five more people in the process.

Small businesses like Sophie’s will benefit from tax cuts and that will encourage further investment and create more employment opportunities for Australians.

The Coalition has also made it more affordable for small businesses to acquire new equipment, which means people like Sophie can invest in new technology to make their businesses more efficient, more competitive and enable them to grow.

We’re supporting jobs and growth in these small businesses and thousands of others across Australia. Click here to find out more about our plan to back small business.
