GC trip to UK — reading list day 1
Six weeks after joining the Government of Canada, I’m back in London, bringing a group of leaders from Canadian Government to learn about how the UK have approached digital and tech transformation.
We’re hoping to take back some practical approaches for next steps, and on this visit we have a particular focus on public sector use of cloud, and approaches to security.
We’re grateful to Liam Maxwell and his team for helping to set this up, as well as to everyone from the Government Digital Service, the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, the Cabinet Office, and the National Cyber Security Centre, who have made time to meet with us so far.
There are publications which have been discussed, which our group will be reading and learning from, and taking home with us. I’ll be posting those links here, so that anyone who is interested can see the collection of helpful pointers we’ve acquired.
Reading list from day 1:
National Cyber Security Centre — cloud security principles
Public sector use of public cloud
National Cyber Security Centre guidance collection — cloud security
Architecture behind National Cyber Security Centre IT system
National Cyber Security Centre — End User Device Security Collection
GCHQ — boiling frogs (Tom Loosemore redesigned version)
