300,000 Additional Hotels | 2. Improving Inventory within Destinations
This is part 2 of the 300,000 Additional Hotels Series, which focuses on the implications of our new partnership announced earlier.

As outlined in part 1 of the series, we have learned about the weaknesses of our inventory partly by the feedback coming from our customers. In this article, we will present you another such case and how we improved our inventory within destinations.
Case Study — Prachuap Khiri Khan
Prachuap Khiri Khan is located in the northern part of the Malay Peninsula, some 240 km south of Bangkok (Thailand).
One of our customers planned to travel to this town and wanted to use the LockTrip marketplace to save on expenses.
Upon doing a quick search, he realized that we only had 1 hotel available at that time.
Our customer was not only limited to one option in terms of price and quality, but also regarding the location of the hotel.
The issue with the location turned out to be especially problematic. The hotel was located 30 km outside the town center, while the customer had to be located in the downtown.
As a result, we were not able to fulfill his needs and he had to use a regular booking site and pay unnecessary commissions.
What we could do however, was to note this weak spot and focus on similar places when on-boarding new inventory.
And so we did.
Our new inventory will reflect this work greatly. Doing the same search after the integration will give you 121 unique hotels to choose from (instead of the single hotel currently available).
Not only that. Low priced rooms will start at below $25, rather than the $110 displayed on the screenshot above. There will be hostels, 1 and 2 star hotels, as well as luxury hotels with 5 stars available for booking.
Most importantly, we will have a great selection of hotels located in the downtown, which is surely the most important place for any town.
Taking into account that Prachuap Khiri Khan has only 500,000 residents, it is safe to say that our coverage will be very dense and fulfill the needs of every customer profile.
While in part 1 of our series we outlined how we are expanding to new destinations, this article shows how already available destinations are getting a significantly improved set of offerings.
