Once you get an idea of the topic you want to post on your blog or your website, it is important to come up with a list of relevant keywords to better optimize your publication in Google search.

What are SEO keywords?

SEO keywords are words or phrases in the content that make it possible for other users to find your publications on the Internet. To improve the visibility of your website in search engines, your website has to speak the same language as a search engine.

Keywords are necessary to attract more users from your target audience and improve your clients’ base.

So what steps can be applied to choose the best keywords that will boost your website or blog’s visibility?

Step 1: Use Google Keyword Planner to reduce your keyword list

Using Google’s Keyword Planner, you can get search volume and traffic estimates for keywords you’re considering. Then, you can use Google Trends to fill in some blanks. Google Trends can help you determine which terms are trending upward, and are therefore worth more of your focus.

Step 2: Make a list of low-ranking words and topics

It is also important to prioritize keywords that have little competition. Keywords that don’t already have multiple articles battling for the highest rank can afford you the spot by default — if there’s no one else trying to claim it.

Step 3: Check the monthly search volume

Step 4: Watch your competitors

How do you figure out what keywords your competitors are ranking for, you ask?
