Fast forward to May 2022 — we kicked off our 1st birthday with a historical Metakey moment. We announced New Ganymede, the first truly 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑜𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒 virtual world.
Developed and published solely in-house.
We also hosted exciting events at our Metakey HQ in Decentraland for Curio Cards’ 5th Year Anniversary, Whub.io’s Scale Up Impact Summit, and a live music show by DJ Stoney Eye.
Key-holders received access to special perks in May, including an exclusive Metakey x Genie Avatar Fashion airdrop and 200 whitelist spots for Elvin On-Chain.
June 18, 2022 — more dancing at our Metakey HQ in Decentraland! This time, with live music from DJ Buffalo!
At NFT NYC, Chainpass gave away 3 exclusive trading cards and Key-holders claimed an exclusive Metakey physical!
In Habbo, Key-holders received furni, clothes, and effects to fully deck out their in-game spaces 🏠
Jason Derulo also slid into the metaverse in style! Our friends at TerraZero included a Metakey-gated VIP space in their immersive build that brought Jason Derulo’s new single, “Slidin”, to life like never before in Decentraland!
Also in June — The Kongz weren’t monkeying around! Cyberkongz VX swung into New Ganymede to teach the Metakrew the true meaning of gorilla warfare. The Sipherians have also dropped in from Moonbase Station to join the stand in New Ganymede… for a price.
July 2022 — another huge name, RTFKT Clone X joined our Krew in New Ganymede!
Arabic pop’s undisputed Queen, Nancy Ajram, chose Metakey’s new Black Panther Club in Decentraland for her new single’s launch party!
We also co-hosted Alpha Minds alongside NFT Melb and The Bread Bros., an IRL and metaverse event, focusing on the sustainability of physical and mental wellness when interacting with the Web3 ecosystem.
Through July, we also collaborated with Prysm and Dark Tavern, gaining access to free claims and allowlists.
August 2022 — we raised money for Starlight Foundation, to help brighten the lives of seriously ill children and young people. An official and exclusive Starlight wearable was airdropped to anyone who donated.
We ended the month by taking flight with Atmos, an expansive universe dedicated to metaverse-native sports. Their Mark IV teaser was launched at our Metakey HQ in Decentraland! Key-holders received an exclusive jetpack wearable on attendance and a chance to win 1 of 25x Atmos MKIV Datacards! 🚀
Key-holders continued to gain access to allowlists! This time from METADRAG, WGMI.io & BNV. To celebrate this partnership with BNV, they’ve created a Metakey G2 Headset wearable, powered by The Ethercore to bring the community future utility, innovation, and impressive earning buff in BNV World.
September 2022 — our AI Synthia was installed into our Discord and our hearts! 🤖
We hosted a number of exciting metaverse events, such as the official Ethernity launch, Whub.io’s Scaleup Impact Summit, and collaborated with Sugar Club to bring a major sugar rush to Decentraland, with a live performance by DJ akaHorus!
Go Habbo, it’s your birthday! We’re going to party like it’s your birthday! And we certainly did! 🎈 Key-holders received one NFT Gift Box per day for a week and we hosted a Habbo x Metakey Twitch stream to celebrate and visit the Top 5 rooms of our #HabboMetaKrib Competition!
We also officially integrated into Galaxy Fight Club, alongside CyberKongz, Pudgy Penguins, Rumble Kong League, Kaiju Kings, Eth Lizards, and many more! Key-holders will have exclusive in-game access to a Metakey character — The Captain! September marked the first event in the GFC Cross-IP Championship!
Also in September, Key-holders received presale access into Metropolis World & Blokssom gave us early access and a 50% discount on their first product — NFTSonar!
October 2022 — A historical New Ganymede partnership announcement with Immutable IMX!
The party never stops in the metaverse! We kept it real with Reel Sessions at our Metakey HQ, got spooky at our Black Panther Nightclub, and dived #IntoTheBollyverse with BollyCoin & Bollywood legend, Kamaal Khan!
Also, Key-holders gained allowlists from The Digital Dogs!
November 2022 — Another historical milestone, we revealed our new education platform, Metakademy!
Ready, Player One? We hosted Metakey Tetris at the Decentraland Metaverse Music Festival! #DCLMVMF22

January 2023 — started the new year off with a BANG! Jamestown, the owner of the iconic One Times Square, had once again recreated the 26-story tower at the heart of New York’s New Year’s Eve ball drop in Decentraland! Our MetaFest 2023 NYE Party, in collaboration with One Times Square, was the perfect setting to ring in the New Year!
AO Metaverse served us 9 new and unique Metakey Artballs, designed in-house by The Metakey!
Decentraland’s Film Club contest also came back for a 3rd year in a row!

January included allowlists from Jmarino_Vfx and Rengoku for our Key-holders!
February 2023 — Matty surprised us with some major announcements! We would be working alongside Microsoft, Ericsson, and KPMG to explore Metaverse/Digital activations in Saudi Arabia, providing solutions that explore VR, AR, XR, etc to ‘digitise’ SA.
Key-holders received access to Alan Bolton’s (artist of The Metakey Genesis key) new collection of work, “Paradigm Shift.”
It’s been 1 year since our HQ was unveiled in Decentraland! 🎂🎈 and we are celebrating the 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 way we know how — live music from DJ Tropix, giveaways, free wearables, and lots of moves on the dance floor!
Another New Ganymede milestone achieved — the landing page has launched! Users also claimed a Founders’ Reward (free mint!), exclusive in-game items distributed on IMX — the epic Mark1 VEU Carbine and NGS-PV “Kestrel” glider!
Collaborating with AlUla, we ended February showcasing the AlUla Hot Air Balloon Festival in Decentraland to the world! Users rode on a hot air balloon that offered a mesmerizing 360-degree tour of Hegra’s Tomb of Lihyan, staged in a breathtaking rendering of the desert landscape.
March Madness had us in Decentraland for the biggest fashion events to have ever existed in the metaverse. We were thrilled to be participating alongside some of the world’s most innovative fashion players at #MVFW23 including Dolce Gabbana, Adidas, DKNY, Vogue Singapore & more!
We kicked off the finale at Metakey HQ, distributing free Metakey Heritage V2 Skins, inspired by the MVFW curatorial theme, “Future Heritage,” connecting innovation to tradition. All Key-holders also received the Heritage V1 Skin in their wallets!
It was an eventful month, indeed, in the metaverse! On Twitch, we explored The Sandbox, Worldwide Webb & Decentraland!
Another live event, CX3 Conference in Melbourne, held Matty and Kevin as guest speakers alongside Mooning, Pullman Hotels and Resorts and Coraid Digital — to showcase to web2 companies how they can leverage blockchain technology to transform their business.
We also unveiled our playable On Cyber build live at the CX3 Conference in Melbourne yesterday! 🚀
📖 Another book was added to the shelf, as Rengoku Legends released their novella, The Thief’s Gambit. With our very own Metakey variant cover — a Samurai inspired by Matty’s Vanguard Metakrew 👹 40 Novellas were also given away to lucky Key-holders!

Taking place at our partner, Oshi Gallery here in Melbourne, Australia, we invited Key-Masters & Key-Holders to an immersive evening that showcased the last two years of brand building. Highlighting the milestones, the growth, the incredible projects we have developed, the struggles, and how we pushed through to where we are today.
We are so grateful for the amazing community that has stood behind us since the beginning and can’t wait to show you where we plan to take The Metakey in 2023 and beyond.
