Deep Dive into the zkSync ecosystem! Testnet Project MES Protocol! #4
Hello all, today we continue to test projects of the famous zkSync ecosystem! Today we are parsing DEX called Mute. The goal of the project is to create a version as close to CEX as possible, namely to create the same convenient and diverse functionality for users!
Let’s start by talking a little bit about the project.
MES protocol works almost like centralized exchanges (“CEX”) like Binance and Coinbase, you just deposit funds and then trade, one major difference is that your funds are deposited into a centralized wallet for CEX, while in MES protocol they are completely non-storage able; your funds are deposited into zkSync contract, like in other DeFi protocols, you will never lose control over it.
For a long time, projects have been trying to create the functionality of centralized exchanges with one big BUT, namely to guarantee users' decentralization, which might be a breakthrough among decentralized exchanges in the future!
So, if you have never interacted with the zkSync ecosystem, you do not have ETH test tokens in the zkSync Era Goerli(Testnet) network, so the first step for you is this article!
If you’ve already tested, you probably have everything you need to start taking the test right now with me!
Go to the project site and connect your wallet:
After that on the top right, we will have to make a token deposit in order to start interacting:
Confirm the transaction:
Next, click on the tab “Trade”, then on the left above we should have a pair of ETH/USDC, click on “Sell” and change our ETH to USDC (the amount you choose according to your personal preferences):
So, based on the example we can test the entire functionality of the platform — Buy/Sell, change pairs, etc. For now, this is all the available functions, and I hope that in time there will be more, but for now, we use what we have.
Summing up, we can immediately note that the project has a lot to develop because it is enough to compare the description of the project idea and the stage of development, in which it is today! The whole test takes ~10 minutes, which is very fast for DEX.
