Greetings Rangers!

We are excited to release this article and share some new and exciting aspects of the Starfighters and Avatars within Phantom Galaxies.

Firstly, we have a buyer’s guide which will explain the different mintpasses you can purchase from the Phantom Galaxies Website. Next, we have the Starfighter/Avatar minting guide where you can find the step-by-step process for minting your assets!

This is a big article filled with loads of information, coming in hot!

Purchasing Starfighter/Avatar Mintpasses

There are currently five (5) different Starfighter and Avatar Mintpasses you can purchase from the Phantom Galaxies website.

You can purchase the following:

  • Veteran Fleet Mintpass — Third Class
  • Pristine Fleet Mintpass — Third Class
  • Standard Issue Fleet Mintpass
  • Zveta Gene Sample Mintpass: Third Class
  • Unspecified Origin Gene Sample

Differences between First, Second and Third Class

  • First Class comes with a First Class Hangar or Quarters, and has higher generation rates than both other Classes for rarer trait outcomes.
  • Second Class comes with a Second Class Hangar or Quarters, and has higher generation rates for rare trait outcomes than Third Class, but less than First Class.
  • Third Class comes with a Third Class Hangar or Quarters, and has the base generation rates for all rarer trait outcomes.

Differences between Base, Standard and Limited Edition (Pristine/Veteran or Elpis/Zveta)

What separates Standard from Base (F2P)?

  • Base are not NFTs. Base Starfighters have no generation at all, meaning that every Starfighter of a specific Build looks identical. Base Avatars have a tiny amount of generation, with some small appearance variation — but this is very limited compared to Standard Issue.
Standard Issue are NFTs and are generative for both Starfighters and Avatars. They have a large range of generative trait outcomes, but they cannot generate with any rare components (will always have common lights, hair style, etc.). These NFTs provide much more variety than Base (e.g Avatars have generative suit colors).

What separates Limited Edition (Pristine/Veteran or Elpis/Zveta) from Standard and Base?

  • Limited Edition has the full range of generative traits, can generate with rare components, and has unique trait outcomes based on Origin (e.g., different faces available for each Origin). Starfighters come with a Hanger, Avatars with Player Quarters. Based upon the Origin, Starfighters will feature a unique themed weapon and Ultimate move as well as a unique emote and accessory for Avatars. These will come at a later date.
  • Limited Edition Mintpasses will also have a very small chance of upgrading during minting to an Ultra Rare Gen.0 Starfighter or a Hero Avatar respectively. There are only 24 Gen.0 Starfighters that can ever be found from Pristine and Veteran mintpasses, and a max total of 16 Hero Avatars from the Elpis and Zveta collections. A Gen.0 Starfighter or Hero Avatar will have all of their rarity-based traits with Ultra Rare values and can only be generated once.

What are the key benefits of a Limited Edition Mintpass?

  • Fully customized Starfighter/Avatars, to stand out amongst the crowd.
  • Chance to generate with Ultra Rare components.
  • Chance to generate an Ultra Rare Gen.0 Starfighter/Heroic Avatars.
  • Guaranteed to mint a unique Starfighter or Avatars, with zero chance of duplicates. You will always mint a new, unique Starfighter or Avatars.
  • Starfighter Hangars/Avatar Quarters which will be released at a later date.
  • Unique weapon and Ultimate move for Starfighters, and accessory and emote for Avatars (at a later date)

Minting Generative Starfighters/Avatars

Here we will give you a step-by-step guide to minting your Starfighter and Avatar, and answer a range of FAQs around the minting process. Generative Minting is now available for your Starfighter and Avatar on. Here is what you need to know!

Many people have been airdropped an array of exciting Catalysts for their Starfighter and Avatar. These Catalysts allow owners to influence certain traits of their NFT, such as the Build of your Starfighter or the gender of your Avatar. If you did not receive the Catalyst you hoped for in the airdrop, you can purchase Catalysts from other players on secondary markets such as OpenSea. Take care to purchase through authentic and legitimate websites, to avoid any risk of bad actors taking advantage of your hype 🔥

Check out our longer article for more details about the Catalysts and the odds of getting specific generative traits.

Now, how do you mint your mintpasses? Let’s dive in.

Batch Minting:

To mint a single or multiple (up to 100) Starfighters or Avatar without Catalysts follow these instructions:

  1. Add one or multiple owned Starfighter or Avatar Mintpass NFTs by clicking the plus (“+”) button.
  2. No Catalysts can be applied using this method, and so random traits will be applied upon mint.
  3. Select “Mint” below.
  4. Complete a checklist window that is similar to our Planet Sale checklist, i.e. approve the mintpass transfer, purchase Starfighter, etc.
  5. Receive all of your Starfighter/Avatar NFTs at once.

NOTE: Minting is final and you will NOT be able to apply any Catalysts after the Batch Select method has been used.

Add Catalyst:

  1. Select one owned Starfighter or Avatar Mintpass NFT.
  2. Select the Catalyst category to apply to the NFT — any Catalyst categories left blank will result in a random trait to be applied for that category.
  3. Select the trait to apply to the category.
Note: Only one trait can be applied per Catalyst category.
  4. Select “Mint” below.
  5. Complete a checklist window that is similar to our Starfighter sale checklist, i.e. approve the mintpass transfer, purchase Starfighter, etc.
  6. Receive your NFT with all the traits applied.

Using Your Avatars and Starfighters In-Game

The NFT Collection tab can be accessed via the Main Menu, and allows you to view your Planets, Avatars, and Starfighters. Your NFTs will appear greyed out in your collection until they have been Bound to your account.

There are two main statuses to note for any NFTs you are trying to use: ‘Bound’ and ‘Game-locked’. Binding will make your assets ready for use in-game. Your asset becomes game-locked when it is currently in use in-game. Both statuses prevent players from being able to sell or trade Planets, Starfighters or Avatars.

You can go ahead and Bind your Pilots and Starfighters through the website, so they are ready and available as options in-game. To access this:

  • Log in to the Phantom Galaxies website
  • Navigate to the Portfolio
  • Enter the Pilot Dashboard, Starfighter Dashboard, or Planet Dashboard depending on what NFT you are binding
  • Select, and then click Bind

Note that this feature is exclusive to Web3 platforms.
