So someone sent you some VOI or VIA tokens on discord, and you want to make sure that you can get them into a wallet. After all, not your keys, not your crypto.

First off, don’t panic! Your tokens are being held safely in the bot, waiting for you to register and withdraw them! They just won’t show up when you run /balance on the Algorand side of the bot.

  1. Run /balance and click on the network button circled in yellow above. A drop down menu will appear. Select ‘Voi Testnet’.
  2. Now you should be able to see your Voi balances available in the bot if you run the /balance command. However, the ‘Withdraw’ button will still be greyed out.

3. In order to withdraw, you will need to link a Voi wallet with the bot. It is recommended that this is a brand new wallet, and not one that you currently use on Algorand. If you need help creating a Voi wallet check out ‘Getting Started With Kibisis’. If you already have a Voi wallet, run /register (your wallet)

4. You will need to confirm your wallet connection with a transaction, but if it is a brand new wallet with no Voi for transaction fees then you will need to get some VOI first!

5. Luckily the Algo Leagues bot has a small faucet included that will drip you 0.2 VOI for just this purpose. Click the green ‘Faucet’ button that appears.

6. Click ‘OK’

7. Well done! You are now registered! If you run /balance, you will be able to click on the ‘Withdraw button’ and select any tokens you would like to withdraw to your wallet.

8. Remember that there are Voi Standard Assets that will require you to opt in first. And that there are ARC200 tokens like VIA that will send to your wallet without opting in, but you will need to add them your wallet display yourself. For more info on opting in (or not) check out ‘Do I Still Need To Opt-In on Voi’.
