You catch up to Eshami with minimal exertion.
Suddenly, a solid metal door slams down in front of you, cutting off your options. Now, only a small hatch in the floor is available to you, and you brush past Eshami to take the lead.
“Let’s be careful,” you remind her as you carefully make your way down the ladder built into the wall.
After you feel like you’ve climbed down ten stories and are sweating through your clothes, your feet touch the clanging metal flooring that you have come to appreciate.
Solid. Sturdy.
“Oh…dear…”
Eshami has her crossbow drawn and loaded as you arm yourself with your sword. Who was that?
There is an open doorway ahead, and you each take a side of the opening before you make a stealthy and tactical breach of the entrance.
