“ It Does Not Matter How Slowly You Go as Long as You Do Not Stop”
Business Advice from Confucius.
It may seem like a meaningless step, but I felt it important to create monthly checkpoints in my 3-year journey for two reasons.
The first was to gauge which project was moving forward and which steps were bringing me closer to my financial goals. The second was to share them with you so you can grow your business and find inspiration to continue along an entrepreneurial path to your success.
I made a rule. I don’t check subscribers, or likes, or claps, on any of my projects. I simply do the work and at the end of the month, I open the spreadsheet and excitement builds as I add the stats. Another 30 days along my journey is complete.
In my second month, I built a beautiful online course. The first in my collection for budding entrepreneurs. It was very time and energy-consuming. I’m very pleased with the outcome. I will be excited to see students finding it and the numbers of people learning great things.
Once the 30th is here, I often say to myself “Oh the YouTube Channel isn’t getting any attention.” or “I haven’t written an article on Medium in a while.” I open the spreadsheet and check the new likes, new subscribers, and the money made from the different platforms, and my smile grows.
Seeing the numbers tick up slightly in all areas proves that each baby step is a step in the right direction. It was thrilling to see the $94 added to my bank account from Patreon after two months!
My third-month check is here, June 2020. Month three brought me two connections I didn’t expect. The first was a company that asked me to create an online course for them. The second was a platform where I can showcase my online courses. Both of these connections allow me to move forward into new avenues of online course creation and distribution.
My fourth month and the third quarter of 2020 are going to be super busy. It will include the creation of two online courses and more articles for my new Medium Publication. I was also invited to join an entrepreneurs directory that will lead to more connections.
Stepping back, It feels like three years is a long way away. But that is not my focus. My newly planted projects are growing roots. This reminded me of a saying from Confuscious.

I’m enjoying each step of each project. Each clap, each subscriber, each new visitor to my webpage motivates me to keep going. Seeing my venture build brick by brick, my castle is going up. It won’t be tomorrow or next week, but that’s ok.
Listening to the wisdom of Confuscious, I see the beauty in the slow progressive growth.
