Inside the Telos Foundation Guardians

In the rapidly changing world of blockchain technology, the Telos Foundation has emerged as an innovative leader. As Telos Guardians, we hold a unique responsibility within this dynamic ecosystem. Our journey thus far has been filled with opportunities, challenges, and growth as we strive to guide the Telos Foundation and ensure it remains rooted in its community-focused values.

First and foremost, being a Telos Guardian means acting as the voice of the community within the Telos Foundation. We are the bridge between the needs of the users and the vision of the organization. Our duties, while still evolving, are centered around safeguarding the community’s interests and maintaining the alignment of the Telos Foundation with its stated goals.

Our responsibilities range from promoting the Telos Network on a global scale to overseeing the judicious use of Telos Foundation’s funds. We ensure that the Foundation’s account payments are approved and multi-signature transactions are promptly signed. Moreover, we continuously review and advocate for the Telos Technical Roadmap and monitor the Telos Blockchain Network Operating Agreement (TBNOA) for accuracy and timeliness of its amendments.

An essential part of our role is in maintaining integrity and accountability within the Telos Foundation. We appoint and hold the CEO accountable, making sure they are upholding the mandate of the Foundation, staying true to its mission and values.

Another critical aspect of our work includes attending meetings beyond our weekly Guardians meeting and ensuring that there is robust oversight of the TF. This is vital to guarantee transparency, identify potential issues before they escalate, and provide constructive feedback. This direct involvement enables us to keep the Foundation accountable and align its actions with the community’s expectations.

As one of us, Erika Elder, puts it, “I’m not going to lie, it’s not always easy. But I have truly appreciated the opportunity to work with incredible people who are passionate about the same things I am. I’ve learned so much over this time, and hope the people who fill the open positions are ready to work collaboratively, think strategically, be genuine, and do their best to represent the Telos community’s interests.”
