We had a great time in Vilnius, Lithuania, being part of the Pillar Unconference.

Due to the fresh concept of an “Unagenda”, our talks and the hackathon were voted by the participants. We started with our talk on “Better with blockchain — the (r)evolution of business integration” and met a high quality audience, shooting interesting questions over.

Our team (Bastian, Ruud and Stefan) took the chance to have a lot of inspiring chats at the various locations the Unconference offered and also teamed up with our advisor Nicolas Merten (aka DataDash). He provided great panel discussions and a masterclass.

Our hackathon with Lufthansa was a huge success. We had 7 teams working on graphical models for different use cases, all provided and inspired by our preparation with Lufthansa.

We picked a winner team, Auste and Mindaugas from Lithuania. They worked on the “asset lifecycle” template and provided a great graphical model that can be used for both design and monitoring. We and Lufthansa will invite them to a follow-up workshop in Bingen and Frankfurt later this year.

We also took the chance to work on some business relations. We had been in talks with NEM for a while and will partner up with them. Our kick-off-workshop will take place next week, and we are working on announcing the partnerhsip officially after that. They also did a nice recap of the Unconference you can find here: https://medium.com/nem-europe/pillar-project-unconference-recap-28109d6ce05d

We want to say thank you to the Pillar Team for this refreshing event and would love to return next year! See you there!
