Venom Testnet: Two Months of Continuous Growth & Exciting Happenings
Just like that, we’re approaching the end of Venom Testnet’s second month. Throughout the first month, the key objective was to introduce Venom to the world — unveiling the technology behind Venom, which is both secure by design and scalable by nature. The response we received has been phenomenally positive and encouraging. For that, we are grateful. This gives us the confidence to continue refining our technology to achieve our mission of developing a blockchain for all users.
This month, we’ve taken significant steps to further enhance our testnet experience, including new dApps, and a hackathon.

Venom Testnet in Numbers
The Venom community has grown strength on strength, and this is evident in our Testnet numbers. As of the time of writing, we have recorded the following numbers in comparison to the previous month:
- 277M transactions, a 46% increase
- 28M accounts (smart contracts), a 65% increase
- 835K wallets, a 45% increase
- 5.8M NFTs minted as part of on-chain/social tasks, a 93% increase
Three New dApps Join The Venom Ecosystem
We are constantly expanding the Venom ecosystem and are proud to welcome three more dApps onboard — Snipa Finance, Numi, and Ylide!
Powered by the Venom blockchain, Snipa Finance is a comprehensive portfolio tracker that allows you to view your assets at a glance. Not only does it provide real-time updates with 100% accuracy, but it also allows you to monitor your portfolio performance and make an informed decision on your next move.

Ylide is a protocol for cross-chain wallet-to-wallet communications solution for Web3 projects. Its open-source nature enables developers to easily build dApps with true interoperability and flexible monetization. With its multi-and cross-chain solution, it can support a variety of use cases, from DAO communications, to creator platforms, and even customer support.

Upgrades and improvements
The Venom Blockchain team is actively enhancing the protocol, with significant updates scheduled for later this month. In parallel, our work on bringing new decentralized applications (dApps) to the testnet continues with as main goal to ensure their seamless integration and functionality. This ongoing testing process allows us to enhance the user experience.
The upcoming protocol updates and new dApps are part of our ongoing commitment to providing a smooth and reliable blockchain service. More information on these developments will be shared soon, so stay tuned for further announcements.
Venom Hackathon: Building the Future of Web3
On May 8, we achieved another significant milestone with the launch of our inaugural hackathon. Hosted in collaboration with DoraHacks, Developer DAO, and Hacken, the virtual Venom Hackathon received a total of 812 participating hackers and 481 submissions. Hackers got the chance to form teams and build projects based on these three tracks: i) Web3, NFTs and Gaming, (ii) DeFi and CBDCs, (iii) Tools and Infrastructure. Of course, no hackathon is complete without rewards — a grand prize pool of $225,000 awaits winning teams!
We are incredibly impressed by the creativity and quality of submissions received. Seeing that we received a high volume of submissions, our panel of judges increased the number of honorary mentions across all three tracks. A big thank you to our partners and all who participated — we hope the hackathon was an enriching experience.
