WORBLI selected by Australian Trade & Investment Commission for Dubai Blockchain Mission 2019
We’re thrilled to announce that Mark Paterson, WORBLI’s Banking and FinTech Advisor was recently selected to participate in the Australian Trade & Investment Commission’s (Austrade) Blockchain Mission to Dubai — taking place from March 31 to April 3, 2019.
“Dubai aims to be the most advanced blockchain government and the first city fully powered by blockchain through the Emirates Blockchain Strategy 2021. The Dubai Government is progressing more than 20 blockchain powered projects across digital trade, education, supply chain, health, banking, smart cities, and government services.” — AUSTRADE (Australian Trade & Investment Commission)
Austrade have organized a number of pre-summit meetings for Mark with senior executives from the likes of the Dubai Government, MasterCard, Dubai Future Accelerator, Dubai Blockchain Centre, Australian Ambassador to UAE, DP World and more. Some of the participants accompanying Mark on the Dubai Mission include leaders from CSIRO (The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation), Civic Ledger, ADCA (Australian Digital Commerce Association), Till Payments and the Fantom Foundation.
“This is a great effort from our team ‘Down Under’” Mark commented. “We’ve had a very busy couple of weeks in preparation for what should be a great visit to the UAE, the Future Blockchain Summit and a number of seminars, meetings and roundtables with some key blockchain and technology stakeholders in the UAE.”
“The Future Blockchain Summit alone is expecting up to 14,000 attendees and over 150 speakers from 100+ countries. There is little doubt that the Dubai Government through its Future Fund are going to be significant players in the Blockchain landscape and I look forward to the fantastic program that the Austrade staff have arranged for the Mission participants”.

Mark co-founded in 1988 called The System Works Group (TSWG). TSWG is a leading provider of financial services software & offers digital banking solutions including product origination, mobile apps & internet banking to a vast array of financial institutions. TSWG has been serving the Australasian market for over 30 years. Their main focus is on small banks, Mutuals and Credit Unions as they provide digital platforms and IT products, services and advisory to improve productivity within these institutions. Mark was able to help grow this company with his extensive knowledge around database hardware, software development, and systems design and analysis.
