This article is a step-by-step guide for how to buy $ZNN and store it in the SYRIUS wallet. It is designed to be beginner-friendly with lots of pictures, therefore breaking down unnecessary barriers to community growth. Let’s get started!

Foreword

a) If you are new to crypto and are not familiar with MetaMask/Uniswap and so on, you may be better off reading this Longer Version of the guide
b) Initially, it is recommended you only use a SMALL amount to TEST the process. Once confident with the process, you can use larger amounts
c) For safety, NEVER send your seed phrase to ANYONE. Even if you’re having a problem, there is never a reason to send your seed or to enter it anywhere. There’s even been cases of scammers pretending to be prominent community members, so exercise caution.

1. Send ETH to your MetaMask wallet and connect to Uniswap

Here’s the plan: We are going to be buying wZNN, which is Zenon which has been wrapped on Ethereum. We are then going to bridge the wZNN to become native ZNN once inside the SYRIUS wallet. We are also going to set up the SYRIUS wallet if you haven’t already done so.

2. Find the correct version of wZNN to load into Uniswap

The easiest way to do this is to visit the main site zenon.network and click on the wZNN link under ‘Uniswap’. That will load the correct ETH-wZNN trading pair into the swap interface. Now you can trade some ETH for wZNN, but BEFORE you do so, please read the paragraph below.

Are your transactions failing/ you are getting front-run by bots? There are a couple of tricks to get a better price. This includes using affiliate links as well as settings optimisations to beat the bots. You can find this information in the Longer Version of the how-to-buy guide.

3. Import the “contract address” for wZNN into your MetaMask

After you have traded some ETH for wZNN, you will need to import the contract address into MetaMask so you are able to see it there. You will need to import a custom token and paste the contract address in the field; wZNN should appear when this is done.

You can get the contract address from multiple places: the main site, etherscan, coingecko and the pinned tweet on the official twitter. Make sure you copy the ETH contract, and make sure it is up to date.

4. Now it’s time to set up the SYRIUS wallet

Visit the main site ‘zenon.network’ and scroll to the bottom. Choose a desktop wallet. This tutorial is for Mac users. Download the SYRIUS desktop wallet app and move it to the applications folder. We are in the process of getting it listed on the App store; but for now you may have issues with opening it. You need to go to your settings app for your laptop, into security and privacy, and use your admin password to make an exception for SYRIUS and allow it to open/launch even though it is from “unknown developers”.

On launching you will be prompted to create and store your seedphrase, create a password and so on. Very important is that you sync your node to be updated. You have two options: use your embedded node or use a public node. The public node will sync it very quickly/instantly. But the recommended option is to sync the embedded node; this means your computer will verify every transaction and will give you maximum privacy, control (your node your rules), and decentralisation. Only con is you will need to run SYRIUS overnight, roughly 24 hours for it to sync.

Go to the settings icon, scroll down, choose embedded node and click confirm node. Leave the program running. Even if it times out and locks you out, it should still sync. If you close the program and open it up again later, it will return to syncing from where it left off. When finished, the orange circle will turn green.

5. Visit the “NoM Multichain Bridge”

You need to get your wZNN into the SYRIUS wallet where it will become ZNN; it will be safer there and you can also start participating in the network and earning rewards once inside SYRIUS.

Keep your SYRIUS desktop wallet open and running. Also keep your MetaMask web browser extension wallet open and running.

Go to the “NoM Multichain” website. This is linked on the mainsite, but you can also use the link below:

Now follow the steps; the website will guide you through it. When it comes to “Web3 Wallet” or “WalletConnect” it is easier for beginners to go “WalletConnect” to gain permission from your desktop SYRIUS wallet.

I find it easiest to use the screenshot function for the QR code; for that you may need to go into settings to grant SYRIUS permission to use your camera/screen recording. Quit then restart the app if needed.

The time it can take from start to finish to bridge inside of SYRIUS can take 30min to 2 hours in some cases; this is expected to be faster in the future.

Send your wZNN through the portal to become ZNN inside SYRIUS. This whole process works the same for wQSR to become QSR inside SYRIUS, but it will obviously need to use QSR’s ETH contract address.

6. More Info About Fees

Something to know about the bridge:
wZNN to ZNN is feeless
ZNN to wZNN does incur a 3% fee (to be decreased in the future)

The fee supports an affiliate marketing system. If you use an affiliate marketer’s link to buy, you will be given a bonus 1% ZNN and so will the marketer (this is supplied by people paying a fee to exit the ecosystem).

So via an affiliate link, unwrapping 1000 wZNN will give you 1010 ZNN.
