Here’s why I am (still) buying $1,000 strike price Ethereum call options! (again:(

If you want to sell me some and use smart contracts to execute the trade, get in touch. Current offer is $1,000 strike price end of year for at least 250 coins we can discuss the premium. Updated 3/26/18 still think it goes back to 1k this year.

1. Looks like it COULD go to $1,000 (trading post here).
2. I MUST STOP WATCHING THE TICKER (it is fun once in a while, but ethereum trades 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, I do not want to try and TRADE ethereum I want to…)
3. But I still want to be included in this story — not only for the financial gain but for the learning.
4. Related to #2 I want to spend my time building value not just speculating, but related to #3 I want to be in this space because I do believe in some of the problems ethereum can solve related to trust, transaction costs, and even funding for startups.
5. Related to #4 FUNDING FOR STARTUPS — I want to use any of the proceeds from the call options to invest in startups who talk to customers and run experiments.
6. Buying a BITCOIN option from a stranger on Reddit was fun. This will be too.
7. Yes part of the reason is so I can blog about the fact that “I called it” — but not in the pure vanity sense of being right (although maybe some of that) more so in the sense that startups know we actually know our shit and more importantly that we have the money to give them!

10. The fact that I have two accounts — one for active trading, one for buy and hold, the one for active trading is worth half of the buy and hold
11. I like things that are meta. I will only buy covered calls, and we can actually use ethereum to prove that you are holding the ethereum underlying the option.
12. This is not a zero sum trade — it is a voluntary transfer of risk. The person who sells the contract will be happy with the deal no matter what. And I will be happy with the purchase, no matter what.
13. June 17th Because of prints like this one — just a few days after the sky was falling someone is buying 100k worth on a Saturday night in one trade back near all time highs (I said I would stop TRADING eth, never said I would stop writing about it)
