Developer Student Club (DSC) is a non-profit, worldwide, university-based community for students who are interested in Google technologies. After my one-year experience in this program, I would like to summarise it into four main aspects: Learn, Build, Share and Connect.

1. Learn
Google provides various support to help students learn their technologies, such as Cloud Study Jam, Free Qwiklabs codes and a huge developer community for you to ask questions and discuss in. Student-Leads, who act as the president of DSC in his/her campus, will utilise those tools and guide students to learn together through a series of workshops.

2. Build
After learning various developers’ techniques, it is time for you to build something that impacts our society! Google has prepared a world-wide competition for you: the Solution Challenge. In this competition, students can build technology-based solutions that solve the pain-points in their local communities. Enjoy this amazing opportunity and build something great with your friends! Beyond that, there are different prizes prepared by Google each year. Taking my year (Solution Challenge 2020) as an example, winner teams get a free ticket to travel to Google’s offices in Sunnyvale and demonstrate their solutions to Googlers! ( ✧≖ ͜ʖ≖)

3. Share
Now, you have a great idea and an awesome product, what’s next? Share it with your community! Not long after the Solution Challenge, there will be a Demo day for you to showcase your solution to your local community. Step out of your comfort zone and pitch the solution to the community! ヽ( ・∀・)ノ

4. Connect
Even though your one-year journey as a member or Student-Lead of DSC will end someday, your journey as a developer shall never stop. The best part of leading a DSC to me is that we get to know various people who share the same interests with us. Even after DSC, my organising committee members and I still gather and participate in different hackathons and projects together. So, don’t be shy, talk to members in DSC and make life-time friends here! (・ω<)
