Working in a familiar medium…

You know that line about taking time off to find the right thing that matches your values and interests? Yeah, that didn’t take long. It was staring me in the face the whole time.

Truth is, I’ve always known what mattered to me: craft, culture, community, and impact. I’ve carried this through my entire career. This was no more evident than during my time with Adaptive Path. We not only created great solutions for our clients but tried to lift the design community with new ideas and techniques. Sharing ideas that had real impact was part of the mission.

This continued at GE and Uber where I led teams who built things that made a difference in the world. It’s always been more about impact, and less about scale. When I really thought about it, I wanted to work with good people creating quality things that make a real difference.

And I’ve found it, at Medium.

I’m excited to join the team as Head of Design. Together, we’re committed to building something amazing — a place that celebrates freedom of expression, meaningful conversation, and an elegant set of tools for sharing ideas.

The amazing Medium Design team

I’m really excited about this opportunity. I’m perfectly aligned with Medium’s culture and leadership on the belief that the sharing of ideas and experiences is what moves humanity forward.

Thank you to all those who partnered with me on this journey. I’m inspired by your ideas and missions and will work hard to build something you’ll love.
