The Martian Guy — Life in Korkota [Ep.2]
What happened to Robert? Klara seeks revenge for the murder of her father
Korkota city never sleeps. This city witnesses enjoyment and celebrations all the time. People staying in Korkota don’t care what is going on in the northern part, I mean to say in Belgram. They don’t even want to know how the lives of villagers are going right now. They devote themselves totally to their work, busy life, and other events.
The city is filled up with huge buildings, cars, noise, and pollution — you can say exactly the opposite lifestyle than Belgram. You can try to look for some trees here but you hardly can get some. Korkota’s residents are so busy in their personal lives that they even forget the minimum humanities a person should have.
People are pretty much accustomed to hearing news of daily accidents, thefts, and murders. The diversion between rich and poor is very much noticeable, and thus it creates inhuman activities that are happening all day.
The mindset of the citizens of Korkota:
People belonging to Korkota don’t care about Belgram village, or about the northern regions. They don’t even know what’s happening there at all. They don’t have any information about how the people are living their lives in that village.
Actually, they don’t want to know. They’re very much busy in their life! Hardly you’ll find anyone who wants to interact with any stranger who comes from the north. They don’t even welcome them in their houses.
The horrible incidents and past stories of Belgram may be the main issues behind this kind of behavior. This inhuman behavior often affects all the people of the villages. People from Korkota knew about the incidents from their parents and grandparents, maybe they didn’t want to engage themselves with these miraculous problems.
But, not everyone is bad down here. Some of them still have humanity inside them and want to help the villagers in need.
People from Belgram come to Korkota to earn. They serve the rich. They work under big plants and organizations. They’re habituated to the fact of this kind of misbehavior.
In the city, there are multiple restrictions assigned to the villagers. All the protection & laws are only for the people of Korkota, but for the people of Belgram, it becomes more and more restrictive.
Meeting With a Stranger:
One day, a couple driving their car going to the way of Belgram to meet with one of their relatives. The couple was among the nice people from Korkota city. They’re enjoying their ride, talking with each other while going down the road on a nice breezy evening. The sky was clear, the road was smooth.
Suddenly they saw someone coming in front of that road. The person was walking and maybe coming down from the north side. The couple thought that the person was a villager coming from Belgram toward their car.
The couple continued to drive their car forward toward the person, and when they approached nearer, the light emanating from their car directly fell on that person. With the light falling upon her face, they saw a girl walking toward them.
That girl was coming at a good speed and as she hurriedly came near to them, the couple stopped the car to ask her about her situation. She told them her name is Klara, a girl from Belgram village.
The couple noticed that the girl was out of her breath, as maybe she was walking for a long time. She was unable to speak properly. Klara asked them about their name.
In their reply, the man told her his name is Ricky and the name of his wife is Suzan. They both were going towards Belgram to meet with a relative.
Klara told them she is in big trouble, she needs some help that’s why she was coming to Korkota city. Saying this, Klara started crying. The couple understood that she might have gone through a very serious problem, so they told her to come with them.
Klara thought that she might get help from them, so she didn’t refuse the proposal of Suzan. She accepted the proposal and took the ride. After sitting in the car, Ricky asked her what happened.
Klara told them Belgram is facing a serious problem right now, Her father Robert was the leader of the village, and now he’s found ruthlessly murdered. Her father had no enemies inside the village. She has no one in her family, her mother died when she was just thirteen years of age. Robert, her father was the only one left to her. Though other villagers and neighbors love her, no one is willing to take any risk in this situation, as everyone is scared after that incident.
The courageous squad of the village is looking for the actual reason, but they don’t want to take her with them. She now wants to get the actual answers why her father was killed brutally and by whom. She wants to capture the murderer and punish him with her own hands. Revenge is the only thing she seeks now.
After hearing everything the couple feels sympathy for the beautiful innocent girl and they thought to help her in this case. Suzan told Klara not to worry anymore, they will help with whatever they can offer from inside the city.
Girl’s Decision:
Ricky and Suzan took Klara back to the city with them and told her to stay with them. Klara knows the city is not a good place for outsiders especially coming from Belgram, and she might face more difficulties in the city staying alone so she accepted their proposal.
Then she came with them to their house. Suzan and Ricky are married and celebrated their 2nd anniversary very recently. They stayed together in this house after their marriage. The couple works in different organizations and likes to stay busy in their respective work lives. The couple has their relatives in the west portion of the city. They stay here alone. They have lots of friends and colleagues here.
They offered Klara a room to stay in on the first floor. Klara went upstairs and noticed the room was nice enough for her to stay in. They gave her food and other necessary amenities for the night and then bid her a good night.
Although Klara felt a little bit of affection from them, she couldn’t sleep that night. She spent the night just thinking about the sudden changes in her life. She was thinking about why her father got murdered, who murdered her father, if there was any connection between his death with the dark north forest, etc! She has to know the answer and punish the culprit behind her father’s death.
Continuously thinking all about these, at the very dawn, when mild sunlight came through the small window, she took a little nap, and a little rest because the next day was going to be tougher.
