Norway

Norway, a land of fjords, mountains, and glaciers, is a country that is often described as one of the most beautiful in the world. And I couldn't agree more. Recently, I had the opportunity to visit Norway for the first time and it was an experience that I will never forget.
From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the natural beauty of the country. Everywhere I looked, there were towering mountains, cascading waterfalls, and crystal-clear lakes. The fjords are particularly breathtaking, with their steep cliffs and deep waters. The landscape is so diverse, you can find a different experience in every corner of the country.

I started my trip in the oslo capital city of Norway, was an experience I will never forget. The city is small, but it is full of surprises. The architecture and the way the city seamlessly blends into the natural surroundings left me in awe. I had the opportunity to explore the city for several days and I would like to share my experience with you.

Vigeland Park

I started my visit by exploring the famous Vigeland Park,

which is home to over 200 sculptures created by Gustav Vigeland. The park is beautiful and peaceful, and it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery. The sculptures are spread throughout the park and they depict a wide range of human emotions and activities. I particularly enjoyed the Frogner Pond, which is surrounded by sculptures of children. The park is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike and it's a great place to spend a sunny afternoon.

After spending some time in the park, I headed to the Munch Museum,

Munch Museum

which houses many of the famous paintings by Edvard Munch, including "The Scream". The museum is located in Tøyen, which is a neighborhood in the east of Oslo. The museum is dedicated to the works of Edvard Munch and it's a great place to learn more about the artist and his works. The museum has several galleries, each one dedicated to a different period of the artist's life. I also appreciated the audio guide which was available in different languages and it helped me to understand more about the paintings.

Akershus Fortress

I also got a chance to visit the Akershus Fortress,

which is a medieval castle that dates back to the 13th century. The fortress is located on the waterfront and it offers a great view of the city. The fortress is open to the public, and it's a great place to learn more about the history of Oslo. I walked around the fortress and visited the different buildings, including the castle, the church, and the prison. The fortress has a rich history, and it was a great experience to see how it has evolved over the centuries.

In the evening, I took a stroll along the Akerselva river,

Akerselva river

which is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. The river runs through the city and it's a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature that surrounds the city. There are several parks and picnic areas along the river, and I enjoyed watching the sunset over the water.

Bergen

The next day, I took a train to Bergen, a charming coastal city known for its colorful houses and beautiful scenery.

In conclusion, my first visit to Oslo was an incredible experience. The city is small but it's full of surprises, from the beautiful architecture to the natural surroundings. I highly recommend visiting Oslo, and I hope that my experience will inspire you to plan your own trip. Whether you're interested in
