YouTube is the “second largest search engine platform,” with 51 billion channels posting 500 hours of video every minute. Individuals spend one billion hours per day on YouTube.

As the platform keeps growing, the number of opportunities also increases. As a beginner, what makes you stand out from the crowd is what matters.

YouTube algorithms will help your target audience to find you quickly when you know how to create unique, creative, quality content.

In order to help you grow your YouTube channel faster, I would like to share my experience as a video creator with more than 2 years of experience.

Here are the 6 best tips to grow your YouTube channel.

1.Pick the right genre

Finding your niche is the most important part. There are N number of genres out there on YouTube, such as tech reviews, food vlogs, travel vlogs, humor, gaming, fashion, cooking, etc. For faster growth, you must stick with the same genre and not post videos that are not related to your genre.

There are YouTubers who post random videos without sticking to a particular genre with a huge follower base, but it takes a lot of time to create such a fan base.

As a beginner, with the aim of fast-growing, you must identify and stick to one particular genre.

2.Be unique and create your own style

After finding the niche, create content in your own way. Build your own way of vlogging.

Create and deliver content in your own style. Don’t copy from the one who inspired you.

Make videos that are interactive. Use templates and comedies related to content that suit your target audience’s language, culture, and location to make the video alive and engaging.

show the audience what you’re capable of and what to expect from you.

3.Increase view retention

View retention is the amount of time spent by viewers watching a video on average. The more time a viewer spends on a video will help the video reach a larger audience.

In the busy world, with the availability of various options out there, one can easily skip the video if he gets bored. Make the audience stay still until the finale.

Start the video on a high note, make the viewer think about what’s next, and also make the audience wait till the end of the video to get a bonus.

4.Consistency is key

The more consistent, the more discoverable you are. That’s how the YouTube algorithm works. The more you post, the more you reach. Try not to be inconsistent. Don’t confuse your audience by providing more content for one week than no content for another week.

As a beginner, try to post once a week, then after finding the way to create more content, increase the frequency. Set a particular day and time for posting a video knowing your audience’s availability with the help of channel analytics. Also, inform them so they can expect the video availability.

In my experience, 12–1pm is the best time for uploading a video. Where the audience is surfing through social media and having lunch. Plan and schedule your video in advance if you are busy with other work.

5.Engage with the audience

It is very important to be engaged with your audience. More comments, likes, and shares help the video reach more audience. So encourage your audience to comment and like.

You can ask questions in between the video. Also, ask them to give ideas for what to post next that will make people comment.

Spend time replying to comments as much as possible to gain your audience’s loyalty. Don’t leave the audience just as viewers allow them to participate. This helps you drive more audience.

6.Work product

Finally, the product must be crisp and clear. Before uploading, re-check the video quality. Check for lip sync if you record audio and video separately and join during editing. Check whether the cuts don’t disturb the video.

Good content with poor video/audio quality makes the audience skip.

Show the video to your friends and ask them to give feedback on the final product before uploading to avoid mistakes.

You are not the only one. There is a lot of competition. So be unique. The same content can be built differently. Own style and uniqueness are key. You can create a brand of your own.
