For so long Linux was driven by the command line and novices had to struggle with clunky, ugly graphical user interfaces. But Linux has grown up, has several beautiful graphical user interfaces to choose from and is almost as easy to use as Windows — it certainly seems to have a lot less bugs then Windows.

Timing is perfect for this blossoming beauty

People are as mad as hell at BigTech for the way they are mistreating the public. So many are desperate to find an alternative to Microsoft, Google, and Apple that they have turned to Linux and are loving what they are seeing.

Stories abound of old grannies pulling old laptops out of the closet and loading Linux on them

You may find this hard to believe, but I will show you a chat channel where they post their victories day after day after day. It is truly amazing.

Lots of help available to show you how to convert your computers (new and old) to Linux

The above forum grew out of 2 social media channels that have exploded into more then 40,000 participants in the last month. The channels are actively helping people convert their computers from Apple and Microsoft to Linux. Also helping people convert their phones to run open source versions of Android that have been degoogled — no more tracking, spying, censoring, data grabbing, etc. They are a more organized way for you to view the lessons learnt by all these Linux newbies and a place to ask for help. Check them out.

These are the 2 social media channels that started it all. Check them out — you will see lots of people from all backgrounds sharing their successes. Lots of questions being asked and answered. JP’s Technology Chat is very very active — check it out, you will have a blast.

And that is just a taste of the help available

Linux Mint is a very popular flavor of Linux for newbies because it is a lot like Windows and fairly easy to install and use.

GrapheneOS is an alternate Android operating system for your phone with all the Google bits stripped out.

What to find out more about Free and Open Source Software — why give more money to BigTech if we do not need to.

Have you ever thought it would be fun to learn how to write code for computer programs — give it a go.
