The Rivers That Connect Us and The Medical Fall Out From Insider Trading

(This article was originally published in Nigeria’s Tell Magazine in 2015, two years after my travel meds including anti-malaria and Oral Typhoid Medication mailed from Kaiser Vacaville to New York disappeared in the mail. Now they say some of that medication may be the magic cure for the Coronavirus. Ain’t that wonderful? )

Well let us stop falling for establishment trickery, blasphemy and manipulation of our dear ones and remember the Rivers that connect us. Our future and our kids’ future is at stake. Their propaganda included lies about my anti-malaria reaction as a child for Nivaquine/Chloroquine in 1969. This billboard is the most prominent sign at the River Nigeria Bridge.

From the Euphrates and the Tigris, the Sacramento, through the Jordan, the Nile, the Danube, the Mississippi and the Zambezi and Congo in Africa, as well as numerous other waterways, the ebb and flow of rivers has been the metaphor for the heart, spiritual essence and enterprise of many nations.

In the U.S., the Sacramento River is the principal river of Northern California (where I reside), and is the largest river in California.Rising in the Klamath Mountains, the river flows south for 445 miles before reaching the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta and San Francisco Bay.

In Nigeria, the cardinal confluence of hope for Africa’s biggest democracy is undoubtedly the River Nigeria, which has been a major factor in Nigeria’s economic, political and geographical growth since Mungo Park’s exploratory effort put this waterway and its tributaries in the delta on the world map with his horse and a pocket compass when he reached the “long-sought Niger River at Segou, Senegal” in 1796. Originating from the hills of the Fouta Djallon, the Niger meanders its way through major west African cities such as Timbuktu, Ouagadougou, Kouroussa (or Kankan on the Milo tributary) and then Niamey in Niger Republic before reaching Nigeria.

Attending secondary school in the late 70’s at Saint Patrick’s College (also known as Nnebisi College) in Asaba, a historical city that forms a connector between western, eastern and northern Nigeria through the River Niger, emphasized the significance and the importance of the River Niger to me.

It was so common in those halcyon days to seamlessly traverse across the Niger Bridge to either go shopping at the one-of-a-kind Onitsha market, attend a football game between SPC and its old rivals at DMGS, or go in search of our favorite high school paramours at Queen of the Rosary (QRC) girl’s high school in Onitsha.

But after being gone from the country for more than 25 years, the importance of the Niger sort of receded into my subconscious. That was until recently when I took my first road trip in more than two decades across the Niger, which is Africa’s third longest river. The Nile at 4000 miles is Africa’s longest river.

As we sat in a traffic logjam that stretched for miles from the Andwai street area in Asaba to the bridge and even into Onitsha town, the significance of this long span, as an important lifeline for Nigeria’s economic development (since it was built in the 60’s), came flooding back.

As we approached the Niger bridge from Asaba in Nigeria’s Delta State, the spiritual importance of the River Niger was again brought to the fore, as I recalled a text I received out of the blues the night before, for journeying mercies, from the very Reverend Margaret Idahosa (who along with her late husband the charismatic Archbishop Benson Idahosa) founded the Church of God Mission International. Her prayers read, “The Holy Spirit will show you the path to greatness. Death and evil that sweeps shall not come nigh thee! Like a flood the Spirit of God shall raise a standard against your adversaries.”

In Frank Donovan’s “Wheels for a Nation”, several of the book’s anecdotes and nuggets emphasize the importance of how transportation was important in the success of America’s industrial revolution, and even now.

One interesting narrative in the book was this one — “If Gulliver landed on our shores today, he would find not the tiny Lilliputians nor the giant Brobdingnagians, but people who are more like centaurs. They are equipped with four wheels, however, instead of four legs. In the land of the Carboys, Gulliver would have said, the ultimate disgrace is not to be moving.”

Automobiles have morphed from when they were considered “evil machines” and a toy for the rich in the early 20th century, to become a necessity for everyone and every nation.

Movement, especially by road, is the foundation and main driver for economies worldwide.

And so to keep Nigeria moving economically, a renewed emphasis must be placed on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of our roads and bridges. It is important to diversify the nation’s economy by focusing on the development of a seamless transportation system.

Imagine how much productivity is lost through mindless traffic jams!

In 2014 former President Goodluck Jonathan set in motion plans for the construction of a second bridge across the Niger. I am not sure where that project stands right now, but it will be a good idea for the new President Buhari to continue with that project, because the importance of River Niger to Nigeria is indisputable.

The story of the River Niger is indeed unique in every sense of the word. In Africa, it is the only river that connects an entire region. Originating from eastern Sierra Leone, this 2600 mile long river flows through almost every West African nation; channels its waters into Nigeria through the north-western boundary and surges toward the Atlantic Ocean through many Nigerian towns including Baro, Bussa, Jebba, Lokoja, Onitsha and Burutu on the Forcados River.

Politically, Niger (and its tributary the River Benue) geographically frame a lot of important issues for the country; ranging from dividing the country into three main political regions as well as being factored into the revenue allocation formula and national census.

Its importance and position as one of the major access points (others include the Congo , Calabar and Benin Rivers) for the trans-Atlantic slave trade have been illustrated in in poems and movies, including one in 1976 featuring great African-American thespians such as James Earl Jones, Cicely Tyson, Louis Gossett Jr. as well as South African Zakes MOkaes. And therein lies one irony. African-Americans need to endeavor to learn more about their historical roots to have a better perspective of what’s going on around them in modern day America. And in the words of civil rights icon Martin Luther King, Jr. “ Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”

In their history book, Africa in the nineteenth and twentieth century, Joseph C. Anene and G.N. Brown states that “the Berlin West African Conference which began in November 1884 thus had its origins in an attempt to destroy British informal influence on the Niger and Congo, the two most important avenues of access to the interior of Tropical Africa.”

Could the anti-malarial drug chloroquine and nivaquine, successfully used on the Black Jesus as a Nine Year Old Boys Scout, treat COVID-19? Of course that will be good news; but between the lines are some more hurdles for Obamacare; hijacked meds.

President Trump boasted the drug’s promise, but it must still be put through rigorous clinical trials. Well many Nigerians already know about the efficacy in the use of Nivaquine and Chloroquine for the treatment of malaria. I am a live example of the success of those medications.

TD Jakes — Why did God choose me? Must listen! Dedicated to the memory of the best sister — Patience , Edowaye. I still remember my Malaria nivaquine reaction in 1969 and how she and my siblings helped me recover, a civil war memory I narrated to my ex, just another childhood account of the deplorables twisted in their character assassination scheme. And Just one of many pleasant memories from an unblemished and unscathed childhood. And because of that childhood malaria/nivaquine reaction I ensure that I travel with my anti-malaria tablets from Kaiser. And would you believe I have not had malaria for more than three decades. I just shared with Doug, a church member, how I am probably the healthiest International traveler in America because I am vaccinated for everything on earth. Aside from a sprained plantar fasciitis while playing soccer with my son at Grandma’s house in 1999 I have never fallen ill from my travels to Nigeria. And Oh before I forget, we lived in a nice house in a nice town. I have never lived in a forest. My late sister was a schoolmate and good friend of Senator Daisy Ehanire who is married to General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, a Nigerian soldier, politician, successful businessman and former Chief of Staff of the Nigerian Army. In This Era of Coronavirus, Americans Be Careful with Your Travel Meds!

More than seven years later the USPS is still to inform me on the result of an investigation into an important mail sent to me in NY from California that contained an anti-malaria prescription before a trip abroad in 2013.

In his last correspondence sent on 9/19/13 @ 12:15 PM, the investigator Ian Goold in Oakland wrote, “We’re unable to comment regarding ongoing investigations. If an arrest is made and your mail or medication is found during the course of that arrest, you will be notified, and your property returned.” Mysteriously he is no longer with the USPS, but I am still interested in what the Postmaster General’s Office discovered in their investigation. Nobody has informed me that the investigation is closed.

Sources say Mister Goold was fired because of executive involvement in the hijack of my travel meds.

I recall this bizarre medical violation because I had to advise a church member traveling to India to ensure he is vaccinated, and that he keeps his Oral Typhoid Tablets Under Lock and Key.

Mine, mailed in 2013 to New York from Vacaville vanished!

But I am safe Because I am probably the most vaccinated Black man in Solano County.

BED BATH & BEYOND CLOSING 40 STORES, OPENING 15 EXPERIMENTAL ‘LAB STORES’ — America, The Fake Link Has To Be The Greatest Crime About A 9/11 Family And We Have Now Established This Is As A Case of Bio-Terrorism and Racists and Xenophobes!

What Bed? What Bath? They are all Beyond Logic, Law and Common Sense! And Now I have them all trapped! And here is why?

Another inexplicable White Lie, staged from a Bed, Bath and Beyond in New York, Vacaville and somewhere else in Nigeria and coordinated with some sick vendors and maybe lab culture from my anti Malaria and oral typhoid travel meds which is still under probe by the USPS.

Sadie Ette hinted to me in a vision that the clues are in the overhead fan at all these locations, images which are obviously not mine.

Sadie Ette, a 9/11 victim, is an FBI agent. The travel meds were mailed in 2013 to a relative’s Bronx address.

But they were never received and the USPS Inspector General’s office has not disclosed the outcome of their probe!

The other ethically and criminally important question is what happened to the remainder of the remains of my late cousin from Ground Zero. Was it somehow contaminated in a lab with other people who are not blood relatives for Obama’s White House Brain Initiative, the top-secret scheme to put Harriet Tubman on the Twenty Dollar Bill and a devilish attempt to taint my family? Barack, don’t you remember the sinister experiment with black people in WWII?

Well they failed woefully, because they still have not established anything and now, we have war criminals in America and Beyond! I think the results of the USPS investigation is important to this issue and I demand the Inspector General to disclose the results of the probe started by Investigator Ian Goold at the Oakland Post Office.

Read More for more information about the USPS investigation!

I am Still Waiting for the Results of the USPS Investigation

In 2013, just before I traveled to Nigeria for a vacation I had my medical provider mail my anti-malaria medication to me from Vacaville to my cousin’s home in NY where I was transiting through. Because the mail never arrived, I lodged a complaint with the Office of the Postmaster General in Washington, D.C. This prompted an investigation by one Mr. Ian Goold in the Oakland office of the U.S Post Office. There were several exchanges between me and Mr. Goold. I found out a few months later that Mr. Goold was no longer on the job. That basically ended the investigation, but for posterity sake, and because no one at the USPS has bothered to follow up on the investigation I am reproducing some of the exchanges between me and Mr. Ian Goold, because I suspect foul play and still waiting for an explanation from the USPS. The picture of Sadie Ette, under the fan, was taken in 1997, at the Stockton funeral of my late brother Doctor Herbert Essien.

For the record I am in the best health condition. My only health condition is I am pre-diabetic which can be resolved by exercise.

I am also up to date on all my vaccinations and in perfect health based on my medical exam results from Solano Partnership Health Plan.

But the question is what did they do with my Oral Typhoid Vaccine from 2013?

In the hands of malicious agents, in a discreet lab setting, and with my hair, saliva, someone’s steelhead sex toy, and illegally obtained blood samples from Kaiser, this could be bio-terrorism of the worst kind!

I’m with the Office of Inspector General for the Postal Service. I’m writing in regard to your complaint concerning a missing letter. I have a few questions that would assist us in your investigation.

Was the letter sent certified, or any other way that would include a tracking number?

If so, would you be able to provide that number?

Have you had issues with mail sent from Vacaville in the past?

What issues has your cousin been experiencing with their mail in New York? How recent are those issues?

Thank you for your time.

The last picture from 1995, taken at the grounds of the Nigeria Institute of Medical Research. My late mother is the one asking my ex Debra questions. Next to Mom with the quizzical look on her face is my late Aunty Ekaette, the mother of 9/11 victim Sadie Ette. My ex visited my Aunty on her sick bed in NY, just before she died. The puzzle now is between my late brother, the researcher buried in Lodi and my late son Essien. Has the remains or DNA samples of any member been seen by a Federal Government Agency, and for what reason? And what is the justification of the Federal Government for this bizarre crime?

This picture was at the Pentagon Hotel and Restaurant in Yaba (owned by my uncle), which was once the location of the Nigeria Institute of Medical Research (NIMR). Did that give the CIA an idea to use my family for research because of my scientist brother? With a play on the word Mount? Now wouldn’t that be the perfect example of Devilish Analysts in Virginia, because I have never mounted any man!

Oh the rhythmic sounds of the city that rouses you up

at the break of dawn and stirs you from slumber at night.

From birds squealing ceaselessly from tree tops

to dogs barking at everything that moves and imaginary neurotic sounds,

and the hum-drum clickety-clacks and high-pitched howls heralding the

passage of itinerant tailors and scrap-metal scavengers,

along with food and newspaper vendors up and down the boulevard.

On the hallowed grounds of a neighborhood compound, the

return of a cagey bogeyman at odd hours of the night

is broadcast by the rattling of a metal gate, as well as his

dingdong chime of Cece Winan’s “Mercy Said No” returning to his other half

Maria on the floor.

And the occasional loud thud o’er a deified metal roof of coco Nuts.

Then how do you fathom another relative who stumbles out of the bathroom naked and has a penchant for moving things around the house without my permission. You wonder if the bogeyman and Ettekamba are on teleguided missions. Or if they are just planted gangsters?

Then the one that is worrisome; the staccato gun shots at night

and sometimes at high noon, that tell of a city in turmoil,

followed by the occasional siren from patrol cars that reminds

that there is at least some order amid the city’s byzantine chaos.

Out of this cacophony you hear the pleasant

banter and laughter of children as they make their way to school.

And how you long for an era gone by when a city’s

innocence and sense of decency was as resplendent as that of a child.

Oh, the tell-tale sounds of a city, somewhere in the heart of Nigeria.

Heart of Darkness: Embellished by my affair with Wura I bought this picture of Chinua Achebe (born Albert Chinualumogu Achebe) during a trip to the East Coast(Baltimore Maryland Conference of the Society of Technical Communication) and it has been with me and through all my travels. Achebe was a Nigerian novelist, poet, professor, and critic, and His first novel Things Fall Apart (1958) was considered his magnum opus, and is the most widely read book in modern African literature. Achebe expanded on the dislike of Africans in this NPR interview. They have escalated their caustic diatribe. And now call us White Niggas because they are befuddled. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php...

Problem with the world is people lack common sense. https://medium.com/.../the-problem-with-the-world-is...

And that would be Wuraola Ogunsanya a Newswatch staffer at home with me at the Generals home in Festac. I was the caretaker of him home while he was on a course in India. Of course Wura was always with me.

And A Tribute from a Fellow Writer for our Friend and former Daily Times editor. Hexagonal envy. It was from his Daily Times Diary which had steamy notes about my affairs and stolen from my home in Benin, that provided a sub plot for the despicable s.

THE “DELICATE” ROLE OF THE WRITER

In tribute to Dr. Onukaba Adinoyi-OJO

“l am a WRITER.

Therefore.

I AM NOT Sane”

- Edgar Allan Poe

“A WRITER IS A world

TRAPPED lN A person.”

- Victor Hugo

Sir. Herbert Heelas Badmus Olayinka MACAULAY, Dr. Benjamin Nnamdi AZIKWE, Chief Jeremiah Oyeniyi Obafemi AWOLOWO, Chief Anthony Eromosele ENAHORO to mention but a few were frontline nationalists that fought for the nationalism and the struggle for independence for the Nigerian nation.

In a sense, Nigerian independence came with Sir James ROBERTSON, a British governor general in command, (who was hurriedly brought from Sudan) against the unimaginable pressure from the relentless freedom fighters on the colonialist. As one might say, popular faith in genuine democracy was COMPROMISED from its BIRTH. This compromise produced Sir Abubakar TAFAWA BALEWA, the Prime Minister who had been built up into a great statesman by the Western promoters. The departing British made certain on the eve of their departure that power went to that “CONSERVATIVE” element in the country that had played no real part in the struggle for independence. This was the situation in which Chinua ACHEBE, a consumate WRITER wrote his novel “A Man of the People”.

Nigerian ARTISTS across all genre RESPONDED to these events in a variety of ways. The irrepressible Oluwole Akinwande SOYINKA “WS” put on the stage a devastating SATIRE, BEFORE the BLACKOUT, which played to packed houses night after night in lbadan. The popular travelling theatre of Hubert OGUNDE began to STAGE a PLAY clearly directed against the crooked premier of Western Nigeria. The theatre group was declared an UNLAWFUL society and banned in Western Nigeria. Violence erupted after an election swindle of Western Nigerians. It was in this circumstance that Soyinka was charged with holding up the lbadan radio station for which he was later charged and sentenced to twenty two months imprisonment.

Creative WRITERS in independent Nigeria found themselves with a new, terrifying problem on their hands. They found out that the independence their country was supposed to have won was totally without content. In the words of Dr. Nnamdi AZIKWE, Nigeria was given her freedom “ON A PLATTER of GOLD” We should have known that FREEDOM SHOULD BE WON, NOT GIVEN ON A PLATE.

There are some who believe that the WRITER HAS NO ROLE lN POLITICS or the social uphevals of his or her society. Several say, “No, it is too rough there. The writer should be on the sidelines with his notepad and pen, where he can OBSERVE WITH OBJECTIVITY.” But l argue otherwise in the line of this assertion that l BELIEVE that THE ROLE of the writer is not a rigid position and depends to some extent on the STATE of HEALTH of his society. In other words, if a society is ill the writer HAS A RESPONSIBILITY to point it out. If the society is healthier, THE WRITER’S JOB lS DIFFERENT.

In sync with the ancient Nri philosophy, the writers, thinkers and intellectuals must assume “ACTIVE” role in various capacities during periods of society’s malfunctioning and expose imperfections in the political system. The principle implors “public intellectuals” to transform themselves into “WARRIORS of PEACE and ADVOCATES of GOOD GOVERNANCE”

ONUKABA ADINOYI-OJO

He belonged to the REVOLUTIONARIES who restored some FINESSE and DEMURE or what will be better described as “SWAGGER” to the JOURNALISM career in Nigeria.

In the early eighties if you are a regular patron to the Muritala Muhammed International Airport in lkeja Lagos, Nigeria; the approach to news gathering, and the amount of risk that will be invested is enormous. Several old generation on that beat will testify to their being shaped and fixed by years of routine, unimaginative practice but not Dr. Onukaba. He brought a lot of dynamism and innovation to this beat through his friendly demeanour and a rather larger than life personality. Quick-witted, downright ingenuinely humourous and deeply affable. He moved with supreme gusto and confidence, youthfulness and the PURPOSEFUL and FOCUSED aggressiveness of his generation of journalists from the FLAGSHIP of the Nigerian (Print) media — The Guardian.

One of his trademark exterior that earned him his stripe was his DAPPER look in his leather shoes, always reasonably well-embroidered guinea brocade danshiki and sokoto (that he relishes so much as an AUTHENTIC African brand and his shiny black briefcase. He always look more like a DASHING YOUNG BUSINESSMAN than a typical Nigerian reporter. No doubt, this seemingly DAPPER appearance contributed to the unusual cordiality of his various guests. I would later adopt his style when l came On the Journalism Beat several years later in The Guardian and subsequent organisations where l plied my career particularly under Joseph SESEBO another of the BEST BRAINS and hands in the Nigerian journalism plane.

I spent the whole of the last weekend reading his well written biography of the FIRST thirty nine years of General Olusegun OBASANJO titled “OLUSEGUN OBASANJO: In the Eyes of Time. An it made one of the best biographies l have read on the ex war lord.

Dr. Onukaba Adinoyi-OJO like several of our societies finest writers and public intellectuals were armed with this ancient wisdom was demonstrated in their commitment to the STRUGGLE for A TRULY FREE and MODERN NATION.

For this we shall continue to uphold their faith.

It’s yet another memorial anniversary of the passing of one of the finest writers that passed through this clime.

May the genial spirit of Adinoyi continue to find eternal rest in his Lord’s bosom.

Sleep on sleep on beloved BOSS.
