Day 4 –11th October 2018

In colour
In grayscale

About the shot

Third try of the penta leaves.

First Try

Second Try (3rd shot in that page)

EXIF1/125 sec, f/6.3, ISO 500, at 35 mm

Editing — Not much processing, just a little contrast and slight crop in the monochrome.

Critique

This is much better than last 2 attempts. But a new issues with this, now that I closed the aperture too f/6.3 to get the whole leaf in depth of field, the background bokeh is gone, it is all clutter. Background in the grayscale is somewhat tolerable but the colour one is just horrible. As the distance from the subject to the background is not high enough, this problem can’t be solved for this particular leaf. The main issue being the leaf is not in a single plane and has twisted endings which does get sharp with wide aperture.

Tomorrow I will hunt for new subject. May be I will stick with my 35 mm tomorrow too, it’s is light and less tiring.
