Blockchain EXE & ConsenSys Presents “Ethereum Hackathon for Inbound”

Blockchain hackathon on the theme of inbound took place for three days from 20th to 22nd July 2018. high level hackathon had been heated up and unfolded,16 teams were chosen among many entries. Now presenting the first half of the final presentation.

>> Second half of the presentation

Blockchain Hackathon Judging Criteria

  1. Technical
  2. Entrepreneurship
  3. Ideation
  4. Pitch

In this Hackathon, we have set up four judging criteria. For reasons such as “There is pitch delivery but no technical skills to make the product”, “Even if it does have technical but the services cannot be acknowledged by other people” cannot make the implementation society of blockchain to move forward.

Let’s get on to introduce the services of first seven teams

  1. CryptoPenguins “Airbnb2.0”

Introduction of the product of aiming to utilize blockchain to enhance the accommodation facilities against the increase of tourists.

Fraud Prevention by Using uPort

  • Deposit a token upon booking
  • Blacklist malicious users with review function

Blockchain Utilization

  • Reduce contract time
  • Utilize data
  • Reservation rights of purchase
  • Secondary distribution of real estate rights

The generic name of Airbnb2.0 is aiming to next generation of lodging platform that uses blockchain. In response to the question of the judges on “What features will you add on if you are given one more week?”, they replied “ It won’t be lend out the temporary empty room like Airbnb, we will like to create lease out contract that make a lease contract with the real estate.”

2. Ansr “Match Tourist and Guide”

A service that I have planned to create a guide which is reliable and compatible based on the real experience and feeling of importance of tour guide of when I went on a trip to Asia.

Characteristics of service

  • Generates social score by linking uPort with SNS.
  • Matching travelers and guides according to language, nationality, hobbies and etc.
  • You can find a guide that is compatible with you and it’s cheap.

To answer the question on “ How do you deal with the problem like the malicious user buys fake followers as collateral for reliability with the social score?”, we replied “ We believe that the incentive design is able to get votes and the tokens from the users around regardless it a malicious or good intent.

In order to improve the quality of the match. We like to analyze the Twitter’s posting tendency and adding features such as finding guides in the future.

3. AHACRAFT “ReviewChainMap”

We have presented a review system that utilizes the blockchain on the theme of “ Democratization Review”

The problem with current review system

  • A review that is tampered or manipulated by a particular business operator is unreliable.
  • Reviews are scattered in various places, unable to find the individually.
  • Would like to have review in my mother tongue.

Review System that Utilized Blockchain

  • Build a platform that summarizes the reviews to be spoofed using DApps, making it easier for users to search the reviews.
  • By using uPort, visualization of reviewer.
  • Location information and review information can be used by the store for marketing. A token is given to the data provider.

In response to the question “What is improved compared to the current service using blockchain?” We replied, “By using uPort, even the users are the same but the design for each user is different from each provider, so it means that the user is connected to the service.” this is the advantage of using blockchain.

4. BMambo! “Enrichment of Tourism Program”

It is a service that was planned to match tourist’s hobbies and characteristic of the guide. By performing personal authentication using uPort, blockchain service was planned for tangible goods consumption and intangible goods consumption that focus on travelers, shops and guides.

Why Blockchain?

As one of the reason for working with blockchain is that we can write matching logic on smart contract so that anyone can participate in the creation of matching algorithm and get the token. It can be said that it is one major feature of open innovation with blockchain.

5. FrogCompany “Enrichment of Tourism Program”

Foreign tourists want to enjoy the oversea trip to the fullest but always suffer from the problem of “money (budget)”. On the other hand, the stores also want the foreigners to spend as much money as possible.

Ideas of solutions to the problem

  • carry the camera with one hand when travelling + taking photos. ↠ is AR something good?
  • When the camera is launching, is there interesting thing coming out ↠ is AR + video
  • Is not like looking it from your home, is the contents that make you feel that you are enjoying in the real place. Makes you want to travel there yourself ↠ AR + video + location information

Based on the above, we have developed a travel service that connecting the location information, advertisements, and tokens.

Why use Blockchain?

  • By tracing the history, you can trace the illegal advertisements and etc.
  • Secure personal authentication with uPort ↠ Money laundering might happen without blockchain.
  • Global deployment of advertising platform for non-centralized location information ↠ too costly to use blockchain.
  • Contract eliminates the need of advertising agencies, this can eliminates the fraud happen on the agency side ↠ activation of no fraud in advertising industry.

“Is there an incentive design for users other than who receive token from watching advertisements in AR?” In response to the question “ We are in the midst of considering the idea of given out the token by collaborating with AR games other than advertisement.”

6. Gastronomy Club “Wi-Fi Sharing Service”

When a foreigner came to Japan, Wi-Fi environment is always become the problem. In order to solve the problem, we planned to create a service to lent out the router that send out Wi-Fi signal to the individuals, and receive token from it.

Point of Service 1: Remuneration according to the loaned bandwidth

  • Is an incentive to install access point to those places that lack of bandwidth

Point of Service 2: Utilizing uPort

  • Only one authentication
  • tracing fraud
  • Discount by attestation

In response to the question of “Do you have any countermeasures against malicious router providers?”, “It is frank opinion that there is no clear solution and it it difficult to solve with a mechanism of non-centralization by blockchain . There was a reality solution that it should eliminate unauthorized access centrally.”

7. Hi-Con “Gakusei”

By being able to prove student certificates using uPort, we have created a service that can receive services such as student coupons globally.

Characteristics of Service

  • Student Certification by uPort
  • Expand ERC 721 token so that student certification can be revoke automatically

It also mentioned that it can also be applied to extensions services such as university academic transcript and TOEIC score for job interviews.

8. Freedom Hill “Enrichment of Tourism Program”

When we thought about trying to develop a service, we want to make customers feel overwhelmed. While thinking of it, we proposed a service on a service that can solved problem of tourists.

Challenges for Ethereum

  • Ethereum take about 15 seconds to generate blocks
  • 2 minutes (8 blocks) is required for establishing finality

High-speed settlement system using blockchain

We recorded a deposit with a Smart Contract and showed a service demonstration that realizes high-speed payment and issue the secret key at the time of settlement in physical store.
