1. Create a wallet

You would need to have a wallet.

Most users use Temple or Kukai wallets.

Here are the wallets supported:

You can watch this guide to learn how to get started on Temple:

You can read this article to learn how to create a Kukai wallet.

Be careful to write down your seed phrase when you create your wallet, not to store it on your computer or take the picture. Keep the seed phrase in a safe place.

I personally use both Temple wallet and Kukai wallet.

I find that Temple wallet is easy to use and you can change nodes easily. You might also find Temple wallet familiar if you are collecting NFTs on ETH platforms as it is similar to Metamask.

Kukai is great because it has direct authentication so you can use it with your Twitter account. I also have less technical issues with Kukai, but maybe it’s just me. You can also have many wallets.

The downside is that it’s possible that the names of some objkt collections will not be displayed fully on Kukai, nor will some images as the objkt tokens are not fully supported at the moment. If you want to check the images of the pieces you own, you can sync your wallet on objkt, click on “profile”, “owned”, click on the piece, you can also open the IPFS file.

Both Kukai and Temple can be connected to a Ledger. The Ledger is a device which allows you to protect your NFTs. Learn more here. Click here to read an article which explains how to connect your Ledger to your Temple wallet and click here for Kukai wallet.

But if you use the mobile, you also have the possibility to use airgap. Here is a guide which explains how to manage NFTs on objkt with airgap: https://medium.com/airgap-it/guide-to-managing-nfts-on-objkt-with-airgap-13fbb5ae8963

2. Buy XTZ

You will then need to get some tezos (XTZ).

You can read about tezos here.

You can buy them on an exchange, such as Binance or Coinbase (the exchange depend on the countries).

Alternatively if you can’t buy tezos in your place of residence, or if you already have other cryptos, you can swap them directly in Temple wallet.

Go to your Temple wallet, click on the “buy” button.

And then exchange your crypto (for ex: BTC/ETH) against XTZ.

Or Naan wallet allows you to purchase tezos with a credit card:

3. Send XTZ to your wallet

If you are using Temple wallet, click on “receive”.

You will then see that you are able to copy the address.

Come back to the exchange, paste the address, SELECT THE TEZOS network and send. Please find a complete guide on how to send XTZ from Binance to your Temple wallet here: https://madfish.crunch.help/temple-wallet/how-to-sent-tez-xtz-from-binance-to-the-temple-wallet

Don’t send money to people you don’t know

If you are sending tez to someone who is part of a copyminting network, your account may get restricted (you would need to explain why you sent tezos). Do not fund the account of someone you don’t know, it’s very important.
