How to Terraform Mars

This is the sixth article in a series based on my original work on the theory of self-reproducing machines. In the first article I laid out the theory of self-replicating programs, the previous article was about how to possibly create an arbitrary number of new intelligent life forms.

In this article I will explain how self reproducing machines can be used to terraform mars, or any other planet with certain properties.

Outline of Method

I believe I first came across this idea while researching the life of John Von Neumann and the theory of self reproducing machines, but after much work I have been unable to find the reference. I refuse to believe I came up with this idea.

Essentially, because the surface of mars consists of iron, it should be possible to use self reproducing machines to mine the surface for iron, and then use this iron in the self-replication process and as a result emit O2 and N2 gas. This gas will be trapped in the gravitational field of the planet. This would provide a method to create an atmosphere on mars in exponential time using self reproducing machines.

Mining Asteroids with Self Reproducing Machines

A major function of so-called “Von Neumann Probes” is to mine asteroid for precious metals. Another major function would be for the rapid construction of buildings. These functions could be combined together to build systems for transporting raw materials from asteroids to the newly terraformed planet and construct buildings on the planet using these materials.

Self Reproducing Machines for Building Construction

This approach suggests a method for using self reproducing machines to rapidly construct buildings with various types of general properties in their architecture, but which have random elements as well. The way this could work on Mars would be to transport the raw materials that are necessary to fuel the self reproduction process of these machines which make buildings.

Sending Directed Signals from Mars to Earth

The Von Neumann Probes could also be used to save energy when sending signals from Earth to Mars. The way this would work is setting up a series of relays. A good way to think about it would be to consider each “relay” as a wifi-router booster. It’s clear that it would be much more efficient in terms of power to be able to send a directed signal to a relay instead of broadcasting a wifi signal from Mars to Earth.

The exponential growth of the Von Neumann Probes will make it possible to construct the necessary number of machines in a reasonable amount of time, and enable the ability to send messages between Mars and Earth at the speed of light without consuming an enormous amount of power.

Implications for the Human Race

These idea’s support the hypothesis that life on Earth was seeded by an intelligent alien race in another part of our own galaxy that lived an extremely long time ago and may or may not have gone extinct; that the earth’s atmosphere was the result of alien self reproducing machines which terraformed our plane;, that these same machines created life on Earth in all its various forms; that these aliens who created the human race had absolutely no idea we would be created, but rather the space of possible evolutions of intelligent life is so large that its completely impossible to predict ahead of time the evolution of new life forms from the mathematical theory of evolution.

In the next article I will explore these ideas further

tl;dr

Self reproducing machines can terraform mars, mine asteroids, and build stuff. We also might be made by ancient aliens but who knows.
