With the inception of our entrepreneurial journey, we quickly identified numerous problems around us. Our day often began with boarding the college bus from the hostel to campus. It didnโt take long for us to notice inefficiencies in the transportation system. Sometimes, the bus was overcrowded, exceeding its capacity, while other times it ran nearly empty. This inconsistency was primarily due to the varying class schedules of students, leading to some having to resort to taxis or walking to campus, especially for afternoon classes. ๐ถโโ๏ธ๐
Determined to address this issue, we set out to create a solution that would optimize bus scheduling to accommodate the diverse travel needs of students while minimizing empty buses. However, devising such a system proved to be more complex than anticipated. Despite developing several algorithms, we struggled to achieve satisfactory results. Recognizing the need for more sophisticated methods, we continued to explore and learn new approaches to tackle the problem. ๐ก
Despite our efforts, the solution remained elusive, and eventually, we had to redirect our focus to other pressing challenges. However, one of our co-founders later revisited a similar problem and successfully developed a highly efficient solution on a large scale. But thatโs a story for another time. ๐
Though our attempt to revolutionize college transportation may not have been fruitful initially, it taught us valuable lessons about problem-solving, resilience, and the iterative nature of innovation. ๐
