In my first Medium Article I wrote a pre-sale guide for the Blockchain game Battle Racers by Altitude Games. The pre-sale was delayed a few days, but it started on May 21st 2019, with plenty of hype, and expectation. Please click here to visit the Battle Racers website to read about the game.

The pre-sale itself started, but with a slight delay and a few hiccups. The team wrote a very in-depth and great analytical article here about the first 24 hours — https://medium.com/battle-racers/item-pre-sale-update-213-eth-snags-and-solutions-in-24-hours-930f7d5be1e4

The take home message though for me was the hype (Battle Racers went straight to the top of the Dapp Rankings on DappRadar) and the great amount of ETH raised in the first 24 hours (213 ETH). At the time of writing, 5 days after the sale, that figure is now almost touching 400 ETH raised.

I bought into the pre-sale. I’m an investor in Blockchain games, NFTs and I’m an active trader of a great amount NFTs across many games. The following is a breakdown of the items that I received from the crates I opened. When the garages are unlocked in the game, and therefore minting cars/trading is unlocked, I’m hoping to be extremely active in selling/buying and trading cars/parts too.

Through my initial analysis I decided which strategy I wanted to employ in the Battle Racers pre-sale. I had a relatively set amount of ETH that I wanted to invest/purchase crates with, and used that figure to decide on my strategy, i.e. which rarity of crates to purchase. I knew that I wanted to collect at least 50 parts to enable me to hopefully complete full sets of certain cars, and to also have the ability to be flexible in my trading in the future.

This led me to purchase:

6 Silver Crates — Which would yield me 18 Car Parts.
16 Bronze Crates — Which would yield me 32 Car Parts
I also received 1 Bronze Crate from the Battle Racers team as a reward for participating in the Beta Test. My total therefore was 17 Bronze Crate — Which would yield me 34 Car Parts. I would have 52 Car Parts in total.

Inputting the number of crates purchased into my Google Sheets calculation it enabled me predict what I expected to receive when I opened my crates. Please see my last article for the calculations that were required.

For the 6 Silver Crates, I would receive 18 Battle Racers car parts. Of those 18 parts, I would expect, on average to receive:

5 Common Car Parts, 10.8 (11 rounded up) Rare Car Parts, 2.2 (2 rounded down) Epic Car Parts and a 5.75% Chance of a Legendary Item.

For the 17 Bronze Crates, I would receive 34 Battle Racers car parts. Of those 34 parts, I would expect, on average to receive:

22.8 (23 rounded up) Common Car Parts, 9.5 (So either 9 or 10) Rare Car Parts, 1.7 (So either 1 or 2) Epic Car Parts and a 3.29% Chance of a Legendary Item.

Therefore, combined, for the 52 car parts that I was due to receive when I opened my crates, I should expect to receive the following: 28 Common Parts, 20 Rare Parts and 4 Epic Parts, with a 9.04% chance of receiving a legendary.

Ok, so that is what I expected to receive when I opened the crates. What I actually received was:

The first 18 items above were received from the Opening of the 6 Silver Crates. Above I described that I expected to receive, 5 Common Car Parts, 10.8 (11 rounded up) Rare Car Parts, 2.2 (2 rounded down) Epic Car Parts and a 5.75% Chance of a Legendary Item. I actually received:

7 Common Car Parts, 9 Rare Car Parts and 2 Epics. A little under the average expected, but not that much different.

The next 34 items received into my item inventory were received from the Opening of the 17 Bronze Crates. Again, above I described what I expected to receive, 22.8 (23 rounded up) Common Car Parts, 9.5 (So either 9 or 10) Rare Car Parts, 1.7 (So either 1 or 2) Epic Car Parts and a 3.29% Chance of a Legendary Item. I actually received:

24 Common Car Parts, 8 Rare Car Parts and 2 Epics. Again, a little under the average expected, but again not that much different.

The Epic Zeta RX Body I have

Unfortunately, I did not receive any Legendary Parts, but again that was expected, as the Percentage chance was under 10%. But it would have been nice.

Overall, I have a nice selection of car parts and already have a complete Rare Set of the Bolt car. The maths and statistics this time proved to be accurate.

In my next article I intend to delve deeper into the car parts that I have, and what I’m going to be wanting to trade for, or even if I will buy more crates to try and get an above average RNG for some future parts.

The pre-sale for Battle Racers is ongoing until to 21st June 2019. If you wish to check out the website, here is a link (this also provides me with a 10% referral bonus if you purchase any crates in the pre-sale).

Please subscribe for future content about Battle Racers, and in the future I intend to write articles on CryptoSpaceCommanders, MLB Champions, Neon District, and hopefully some upcoming Blockchain games. I’m incredibly excited for the future of Blockchain gaming in 2019 and beyond!
