Background

Since the completion of its ICO in March 2018, Morpheus.Network has come a long way on its journey to utilize blockchain to disrupt the global trade industry — the $15 trillion dinosaur. Unlike other coins like Origin Trail, Wabi, Vechain and Waltonchain in the same space, Morpheus.Network is a middleware which extends itself on top of the most useful technologies. For e.g., interoperability with other blockchains — EOS and/or Ethereum for a public digital fingerprint, Sia and/or IPFS for document storage, Waltonchain for its RFID hardware, Ripple or Stellar for cross border payments, etc., as well as AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision and literally any other legacy ERP system that a business is already using — like SAP. This lends Morpheus with a unique opportunity to streamline the supply chain processes and build on top of other technologies; resulting in infinite permutations for client specific requirements.

For most of last year, Morpheus has been quietly building its platform, adding more functionality, attending conferences across the globe, trialing with multiple clients and growing its ‘A’ team. It has published multiple real-world product demonstrations and the official first launch of the platform — Morpheus Blue — has been live since the end of March.

Team

Dan, CEO of Morpheus Network, has over 15 years of experience in Global Trade. He is the UN representative as the supply chain expert. In his team, he has Roger Crook (ex DHL CEO) as a team lead in Global Logistics, and blockchain legend Charlie Shrem as an advisor. His co-founder and COO, Noam Eppel, has decades of Web Development and Information Security experience. It’s no doubt that this team’s elite credentials helped land such a notable collaboration with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Working with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP)

In the most recent AMA, Dan revealed that for the past 18 months, Morpheus.Network’s partner Customs Direct — a U.S. Customs Broker — has been working directly with the Federal U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBP) on two separate Proof of Concept blockchain projects. As Customs Direct’s blockchain solution, Morpheus.Network looks forward to working on more POCs with the CBP in the next year. Here is a link to the AMA video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ms1IdzVxRes&t=1229s

It is interesting to note that the CBP has been conducting blockchain POCs since mid-2018 and has previously acknowledged trialing Factom as well as IBM TradeLens platform. It is very positive for Morpheus.Network (and blockchain in general) to be working alongside some of the established brands in the space, for the United States government.

Some notable quotes about CBP + Blockchain:
“CBP plans to trial blockchain technology in a “live fire testing” as part of an effort to eliminate paperwork in verifying North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) certificates.”
“It’s not just checking that the system works. We’re looking at the complete technical and regulatory framework that is in place,” Annunziato said.

“We’ve produced a hybrid system that allows public sharing of data and also maintains the security of that data. It’s particularly important for keeping trade secrets and that’s what this architecture is designed to do.”

“In an effort to improve the security and tranquility of Americans, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) along with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) are looking for tech-startups and scientific talent to be integrated into DHS’ Silicon Valley Innovation Program (SVIP). DHS and its subsidiary groups seek to find commercially viable companies to invest in, many of which reside in the same territory of SVIP–Silicon Valley. The goal is to bridge the gap between American technological innovation and the security and effectiveness of government agencies, tasked with the protection of the country.”

Tokenomics

Revenue generated on the Morpheus.Network platform is directly related to its adoption and the value that it provides to its end-clients.

Our revenue model is based on the following: Annual Platform Revenue (APR) = Software as a Service (SaaS) + Global Settlement Fee + Integrations & Services.

Morpheus Network plans to introduce master nodes (in near future) and unlike other utility tokens, share a piece of the revenue pie, with the token holders. It is refreshing to see that the value of the token is directly related to the revenue generated by the platform.

Note: Morpheus.Network is being advised by top legal team to ensure this model is government compliant.

“From these funds collected, Morpheus will distribute payments to participants in the Morpheus ecosystem, including Morpheus Network Solution Providers, Module Developers and those involved in helping to secure and optimize the network, including Masternode operators.”

Other Surprises

While the team ensures that all items on the roadmap are being consistently delivered (on time), they have also previously surprised the community with some unexpected ‘bombs’. For e.g.

Invitation to attend United Nations Blockchain Conference in China — Dan was invited by Liu Hongsheng, the President of the China National Institute of Standardization to the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe to the blockchain conference.

Morpheus Network selected for Plug and Play — With top tier companies like Loreal attending the event, it provides plenty of marketing opportunities for Morpheus.Network to showcase its platform and increase its adoption.
