January has been a big month for the EOS Ecosystem. Several important governance products have rolled out or are about to. We applaud the hard work by a great many community members. These new products are the fruit of their countless hours of labor in the last six months and more.

The Project Synchronize Working Group combined the inputs of over 50 EOS Alliance sponsored community calls (held from August through December in Chinese, Korean, and English) to discuss and write a Community Constitution. This exciting project, with contributions from hundreds of community members from around the globe, is an enormous feat and is, as of this writing, on the brink of being finished. We will post an update and links to the github and the many translations of this proposal now being written around the world.

“This work is exciting for The Alliance because our goal is to help folks self-organize, come together, reach consensus and be heard. It has been a massive undertaking. Many diverse groups of people from very different cultures around the world discussed, debated and are settling on a single governance proposal,” said Thomas Cox, EOS Alliance Interim Executive Director. The next challenge is getting out the vote.”

Many have already seen EOS BallotCraft Guide: Best Practices for Writing EOS Binding Referendum Proposals, a project completed by The EOS BallotCraft Working Group sponsored by The EOS Alliance. The Guide helps the community explore the mechanics of self-governance via on-chain referenda. Learn more about the EOS BallotCraft Guide here.

The completed and approved Referendum Contract was produced by the community driven working group known as the EOS Referendum Working Group. This group included team members from EOS Canada, EOS Nation, Bitgate, GenerEOS, Greymass, Fractal and dozens of others who stepped in to help as needed. Learn more here.

The EOS Alliance is proud to have had a hand in helping the first two of these efforts (and to have been an enthusiastic audience for the third). We want to acknowledge and celebrate the tremendous work of the EOS Community. Please look at these projects, and please take a moment to congratulate the teams and individuals who worked so hard for our community.
