BallotCraft Working Group
Working Session 2
On Nov 2, 2018, the Ballot Craft Working Group convened for their second meeting. This group of volunteers mets to discuss how to best help the EOS community craft referendum questions in light of the Referendum tool being released in open beta.
In the first session, the group outlined its scope and committed to a goal of providing the community best practices documentation for drafting proposals. Over the following two weeks the group’s volunteers researched real-world referenda examples and reviewed scholarly material on the subject. With over a century of documented examples to draw on, this “homework” helped the group to understand established best practices and recognize the common pitfalls in drafting referendum questions.
For the second meeting the volunteers got together on a Zoom call to discuss their findings (view recording here) . They reviewed lessons from real-world examples while also discussing the unique challenges inherent to the EOSIO referendum process. Throughout the call the group started to draft a list of best practices for developing EOSIO referendum proposals.
The Ballot Craft Working Group has one scheduled meeting left on the docket. Afterwards, it endeavors to produce the following deliverables:
- A document outlining best practices for drafting referendum proposals including:
— components vital for ratification,
— suggested structure and framing,
— example referenda templates - A glossary of terms
- A list of challenges still needing community consensus before the referendum process is kicked off, with suggested approaches
It must be iterated that this group holds no decision power over any of the referendum processes. The community is encouraged to reach out to this group throughout the process with any feedback or input by participating in the Ballot Craft Telegram.

2018年11月2日，选票工作组集结，进行第二次会议。考虑到公投工具正在测试中发布，这组志愿者讨论了如何最好地帮助EOS社区制定公投问题。
