The EtherTulips Garden
Sup farmers! Who’s ready to show off their tulips? 🌱Plant them in the EtherTulips garden, coming October 1st!
We’re building the EtherTulips garden as a fun expansion to the world of EtherTulips, and it will be a decentralized environment where members of the EtherTulips community can collect garden plots as the perfect home for their tulips. Each garden plot can hold an EtherTulip, and you can also optionally attach a link to a Twitter profile. Garden plots will be managed through a brand new Garden contract, and we will release a Garden page on ethertulips.com so that all tulip holders can view and interact with the garden in all its stunning glory.
The EtherTulips garden will contain 2500 garden plots, and each will be tradable as an ERC721 NFT. The owner of a garden plot can plant their tulip in the plot or uproot a planted tulip as many times as they want free of charge (transaction fees apply). Only tulips on the upgraded contract can be planted in the garden, so make sure to use the EtherTulips Bridge if you want to bring over your Gen 0 or Gen 1 tulips from the legacy contract.
When claiming a garden plot, you’ll have a choice between planting one of your tulips in the plot immediately or claiming an empty plot. When you claim a plot with a tulip, you’ll receive a discount varying with the generation of the tulip. Pricing is as follows:
- Claiming with a bridged Gen 0/1 tulip: 0.01 ETH
- Claiming with a Gen 2021 tulip: 0.025 ETH
- Claiming an empty plot: 0.04 ETH
Note that the price discounts can only be applied once per tulip! If you claim a plot with a tulip, uproot the tulip, and attempt to claim another plot with the same tulip, you will not be eligible for the discount and will have to pay the full price of 0.04 ETH. If you receive a tulip from someone else who has already used the tulip to claim a plot, you will also not be eligible for the discount.
We plan on launching the EtherTulips Garden on October 1st, 2021. Our roadmap for development work on this project is:

- Web Interface: 9/26
- Internal Testing: 9/28
- Final Release: 10/1
