The current heartbroken world circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 have caused the suspension of the world final. According to the decision of the organization, the prize will be distributed among the finalists.

Chivas Venture is one of the benchmark awards in the world of impact investing. This year-2020- a wonderful global initiative celebrates its IV edition. In these past years, Chivas Venture has selected numerous projects throughout the world, providing notable support with high-level mentoring and rewarding financially the most innovative proposals.

At EthicHub we have had an enormous privilege for being the startup selected to represent Spain in the final round that was supposed to take place in Canada. Since we were selected for the final of this IV edition -in December last year- we have worked very hard to arrive in the best possible condition because regardless of choosing to win the contest, we were also very excited about the possibility of exposing our project in an international context with such repercussions.

Although current circumstances have prevented it, we do not lose a hope that we can do so in the near future!

The exceptional circumstances that we are going through all over the world have also had repercussions in this IV edition. Chivas Venture has decided that for this edition all the finalist projects will be all co-winners and by this decision — 26 finalist projects will share the prize of one million dollars.

A decision aims for each of us to receive “funds so that they can “continue their important work and impact positively on the world, despite the current conditions”

So we are very grateful for this beautiful detail from the organizers, which only reinforces our commitment to achieve financial inclusion for the small, unbanked farmers to create an ecosystem where all the involved actors win with the relation.

Fortunately, the mentorship included in the program continues and all selected projects will be able to participate. The only exception is that, instead of a physical format we will communicate virtually.

In this sense, we already have an advantage . It has been a while since Ethichub has joined #yomequedoencasa initiative so all team members are very familiar with teleworking.

We want to thank Chivas Venture for its commitment to the world of impact investing and its capacity for reaction and generosity with all of us In the same way, we also take the opportunity to congratulate the other 25 extraordinary projects with which we have had the fortune of coinciding in this IV edition of Chivas Venture. We are all winners! !! Congratulations!!

Connecting people. Harvesting wealth.

Chivas is to split its $1 million 2020 venture fund between 26 social start-ups in a bid to support the global fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The Chivas Venture competition, now in its sixth year, sees the blended Scotch whisky maker give away no-strings-attached funding to social enterprise start-ups which blend profit with purpose to make positive change across the globe.

But with the Covid-19 virus still tightening its grip on parts of the world, including Europe and the US, Chivas has decided cut the competition short and distribute the funding evenly between the global finalists immediately to enable the businesses to grow and increase their positive impact more quickly.

The successful companies come from 26 different countries across five continents and are tackling problems including getting energy to people who live off-grid to connecting organic farming families directly with consumers.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, instead of pitching at the Chivas Venture Global Final event, each of our finalists will immediately receive $40,000. Distributing the $1 million prize fund equally among our 26 finalists means that funding can be put towards creating positive change at a testing time for people across the globe.
