I will be honest, keeping up with Instagram’s updates has become almost a full-time job for marketers like myself.

New features, updates, improvements and new trends prove that the platform is here to stay, and it’s one of the most important tools in the arsenal of any creative.

These features and trends can help you create and shape your content on a whole, new level.

Instagram Reels is a feature that allows users to record 15-second videos with special AR effects and song voiceovers.

You may be wondering whether I was talking about TikTok. I know, I felt the same way. Despite being criticised as a “TikTok copycat,” Instagram Reels has gained positive responses from creatives and brands.

Many creatives said they planned to experiment with Reels while maintaining their presence on TikTok — yet, it allowed many people to try something new on the platform.

The platform is heavily capitalising on the new feature. On the upside, Instagram gives Reels a dedicated landing spot at the top of the Explore page. Just tap the first reel at the top, and you can access the Reels feed. …
