For this prompt, you will need a deck of cards. Almost any cards you have will do.

Tarot Cards

Playing Cards

Pokemon Cards

Baseball Cards

Whatever you have is probably gonna work for this.

Anyway. While focusing on your writing goals or setting an intention for this writing exercise, shuffle your cards. Keep shuffling until your intuition tells you to stop.

When you are ready, pick a card.

The character your card represents has just invited you to dinner. For instance, if you pulled the Queen of hearts, then the Queen of Hearts has invited you to dinner tonight at 8pm.

You could:

Describe the invitation. Describe any details around the How was the invitation delivered? How do you feel about this invite? Are you excited? Are you worried about anything?

Are you and the dinner host familiar with one another? What is your history with the host? Or are you strangers?

Describe whether or not you will accept this invitation. How will you travel to the location? Describe in great detail what your senses are experiencing during travel.

Describe dinner. What is being served? Are you and this character alone? Describe the location. Is there music? Are there other guests? Describe their dress and their conversation.

Chantico’s Way

I pulled this card from my tarot deck, Dark Goddess Tarot. I’m having dinner with Chantico, Aztec Goddess of Fire. I feel like making this into a poem. [Image Description:] Tarot Card that reads: Nine of Fire, Chantico. Chantico has light reddish brown skin. She is wearing a large green piece of septum jewelry. She is wearing a white gown and her ornaments are mostly red and yellow with hints of green. There are nine flowering pots around her and she is moving her arms as if she is directing a force or energy.
