Dear FLP Community,
In the month of June, FLP reached the milestone of being an official payment option in the Gameflip marketplace. Since then, thousands of users have used FLP to purchase all sorts of digital goods on Gameflip and its volume within and outside the platform has been also growing. Such growth was enough to get noticed by CoinMarketCap, the biggest index for coins and tokens, which now tracks FLP.
Thus far, 100,000 FLP have been distributed to the public via giveaways. Such initiatives have been well received by the Gameflip community and we plan to continue to offer these as our “token of appreciation” for all the support!
Development
After extensive testing and usage, we have officially launched FLP payment processing on the Gameflip marketplace for all users by mid-June. Since then, FLP has been used to transact all kinds of items, from in-game items in Rocket League, Fornite, and CSGO to gift cards and movies. Our careful planning and engineering capabilities paid off as tens of thousands of transactions had been processed without issues.
FLP wallet and transactions are now fully available on Gameflip.com and on our iOS app. Android app users will soon receive an update with FLP wallet during the first half of July. Also in July, both iOS and Android will be localized to support Portuguese, Spanish, and Japanese, with more languages to be added over time.
To encourage more FLP adoption, we also removed any FLP withdrawal fee to those who have accumulated over 1,000 FLP from selling.
Partnerships
We’ve been working with several of our publishing partners in the FLP Early Access Program to prepare for the launch of their in-game items in the Gameflip marketplace in the coming weeks. Their in-game items will initially be available for purchase on Gameflip, priced in FLP tokens, and later made available on the blockchain for buying and selling once the Gameflip SDK becomes available later this year. These publishing partners not only will let the millions of dedicated gamers on their games know that Gameflip is the approved marketplace for their in-game items, but will also help seed the ecosystem by distributing FLP tokens to their user bases once their in-game items have been added to Gameflip.
First up will be L&K Co., Ltd, one of the pioneers of the Korean games industry. L&K has over 20 years of experience developing and publishing some of Asia’s best known mobile and PC games including Red Stone Online, which has become an icon in Asian and in particular, Japanese gaming culture.
CosmosInfra, publisher of one of Asia’s top first person shooters (FPS), will also be launching in-game items on the Gameflip marketplace. A separate post formally announcing the details of our partnership with CosmosInfra will be made in a few weeks.
In addition to L&K and CosmosInfra, we’re excited to announce that Vavel Game Studios, formed by a veteran team spun out of Kabam / Aftershock, will be using the Gameflip SDK for their upcoming in-game avatar auction system.
We’ve spent the past few months working out details with several gaming communities and platforms to distribute FLP tokens to their users in innovative ways. Later this month, we’ll be starting with Elitepvpers to get FLP tokens into the hands of gamers. Elitepvpers, founded in 2003, is one of the fastest growing and most trusted communities in the world for all things core gaming. Adding nearly 100,000 gamers per month, Elitepvpers has a leading position in many of the dominant game markets, especially those in Europe, North America, and Latin America.
Now that we’ve added FLP token as a payment method to Gameflip, prioritized the localization of the marketplace into 10 languages (German, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese), which is important for our international expansion, and lined up distribution of FLP tokens through multiple channels to gamers around the world, we’re in an excellent position to jumpstart the utilization of FLP token among the 3M+ gamers on Gameflip as well as the millions of players across the games of our publishing partners.
