Liposuction Risks

As with any surgery, liposuction has risks and your surgeon will fully discuss all risks and address all questions before your consent, some of the risks include:
- Fluid accumulation: pockets of fluid might form under the skin which will require drainage.
- Internal puncture of organs can occur if the cannula penetrates deeply.
- Skin might appear bumpy or wavy.
- Infection: this is rare but can pose a threat.
- Irregular contours or asymmetries with Rippling or loose skin, worsening of cellulite.
- Anesthesia risks
- Cannula breakage
- Change in skin sensation that may persist
- Need for revision surgery
- Poor wound healing
- There might be Thermal burn or heat injury from ultrasound with the ultrasound-assisted Lipoplasty technique
