The power of a smile :-)

Warming
Loving
Inclusive
Connected
A smile sets so much of our BEing into positive action.
The above words are all words that I feel when a smile is exchanged.
A catalyst from where anything is possible.
What sparked this reflection today was a young female toddler at the train station recently.
She looked up with the most gorgeous smile, I reciprocated, as did the toddler's parents.
However, and this is the cool part, commuters as far as 10 feet away were drawn into the positive energy that was being whipped up by this in the moment connection of humanity, all catalysed from this wonderful young toddler.
Think about that for a second.
No material items.
Zero cost or money exchanged.
Just raw humanity playing out as it does when we drop our overthinking and our fears.
Smiles in the workplace / at home
How often do you smile during the workday and indeed, how often do you smile at home?
I genuinely feel that the only measure we need to know if we are living the best version of our life, is the regularity of smiles during your day.
Strip away ROI.
Strip away goals and targets (my friend Helen Amery wrote a stunning blog on this topic recently)
Strip away the need to ‘beat’ others or win market share.
Focus on the number of smiles you feel and create in others.
The more we smile, the better the results.
I am very sure about that, both at work and at home.
Who will you smile at today to let them know they matter, even if you don’t know them.
