The first Genopets NFT sale launched a few months ago as an immersive egg hatching mini-game to acquire Genesis Genopets. More than 40,000 Genovians showed up to try and claim one of the 3,333 unhatched Genesis Genopet Eggs. Whether you walked away from that sale with a Genesis Genopet or not, all participants in the sale were gifted a Genopets Terraform Seed, the first ingredient we announced would be needed to craft a Genesis Habitat.
Genesis Habitats are on the horizon. Rather than having you click a button to mint the first and only Level 1 Genesis Habitats ever to exist, we’ve designed a game to take you on a journey through the Genoverse to acquire the NFTs needed to craft the perfect home for their Genopet. Get ready for 6 weeks of mystery because everyone is invited to participate in our first official Treasure Hunt to mint Genesis Habitats.

Objective
Mint your Level 1 Genesis Habitat — a limited edition Habitat with special abilities and genesis markings. The first and only Level 1 Genesis Habitats to ever be created.
To acquire the Genesis Habitat, you must solve all of the puzzles in the Treasure Hunt to obtain a Genotype Crystal from all 5 Elemental Classes. Combine the Crystals with your GENE and Terraform Seed to complete the recipe and mint a Level 1 Genesis Habitat for your Genopet.

Requirements
- Sign up for a Genopets Game Account
All Treasure Hunt participants must have a valid Genopets game account. If you haven’t yet, click here to get verified. Anyone can play, you don’t need to wait for an invitation like Private Beta. - A Solana Wallet
The wallet you use to create your game account will act as a living inventory to hold the ingredients you will need to generate a Genesis Habitat. New to web3? Learn more here. - GENE Token
You will need a total of 15 GENE in your wallet to cover the minting costs of all your NFTs: 1 GENE per Genotype Crystal and 10 GENE for a Level 1 Genesis Habitat. You can buy GENE here to use for the game. - SOL
You will need a small amount of SOL in your wallet for minting NFTs and wallet verifications. We estimate that there will be a total of ~0.05 SOL for Solana transaction costs. - A Terraform Seed
You will need a Terraform Seed in your wallet. As we’ve said before, a Terraform seed is one of the key components required for your journey towards acquiring a Genesis Habitat. If you weren’t one of the 40,000 people that obtained one from participating in the Genesis Genopet sale in December, you can purchase one from Fractal or Magic Eden. - Critical Thinking Skills

How to Play
Genopets is a crafting and evolution game. We have a Recipe system that, with a given recipe, you can craft new NFTs. The Recipe system featured in the Treasure Hunt will provide an inside look into how the crafting mechanic will work in the actual game.

The Recipe for a Genesis Habitat
- 1 of each of the 5 classes of Genotype Crystals (water, earth, metal, fire, wood)
- 1 Terraform Seed
- 15 GENE for minting(1 per Genotype Crystal and 10 for a Genesis Habitat)
- SOL for transaction fees
What to Expect
Every time a Genotype Crystal puzzle is solved, each participant will have the opportunity to mint a Genotype Crystal. Players will collect one crystal of each Elemental as they progress through the Treasure Hunt, for a total of 5 Genotype Crystals. If you don’t want to wait or solve puzzles you can buy all 5 Genotype Crystals on marketplaces now and not take any chances.
- Each week we will release a new puzzle with a limited amount of Genotype Crystals that can be minted as a reward for solving them. The first 5,000 players to solve each week’s challenge will be able to mint a Crystal. If you don’t solve the puzzle in time, you’ll have to buy that crystal on market.
- In the final week of the Treasure Hunt, you will need to have all 5 Genotype Crystals in your wallet to be eligible to mint a Level 1 Genesis Habitat.
- A new puzzle will be released on a weekly cadence over 6 weeks leading up to the Level 1 Genesis Habitat Sale.
- Hints will be given to the public via social media depending on participant progression and requests.
- The puzzle order for the rewards you will obtain during the Treasure Hunt goes as follows:
Week 1 = Genotype Crystal Puzzle 1

Crafting Genesis Habitats
We will be releasing limited-edition Genesis Habitats for players to purchase upon completion of the Treasure Hunt. And just like Genesis Genopets, these are the only Genesis Habitats that will ever exist. And because Genopets is a crafting and evolution game, we have a recipe system that, with a given recipe, a player can craft new NFTs. The Recipe system featured in the Treasure Hunt will provide an inside look into how that particular mechanic will craft items in the actual game.
A Habitat is a home for your Genopet. Habitats allow you to earn KI Token for your steps, produce crystals, craft items, and uncover access to even more ways to upgrade and customize your Genopet, increasing its rarity. Regular Habitats produce unrefined crystals of the respective elemental class type. For example, if you have a Fire Habitat, you can expect to spawn unrefined fire crystals, which you can bring to the lab to refine into a Fire Genotype Crystal.
Genesis Habitats are special. Aside from their unique Genesis emblem, what really makes them stand out from the crowd is that they can spawn unrefined crystals of any and all of the elemental classes. Yep! That’s right folks! Instead of having to buy multiple habitats or scour the market for different Genotype Crystals, Genesis Habitats are your one-stop shop to refine every Genotype Crystal in the Genoverse.
