One active Medium account can make you money in multiple ways.

Medium has recently announced that it’s going to add more countries to its Medium Partner Program. So doesn’t matter where you are now, or which country you belong to, time to grow your Medium without any delay!

If you have been on Medium for a while then you must know that Medium Partner Programs pay you money when the Medium audience engages and reads your stories. As far as I have seen, Medium Writers are making the most money from the Medium Partner’s Program.

Medium Money Making opportunity

Medium is like any other blog out there. The blog costs a little money but maintaining it is quite a hurdle. Sometimes, it’s slow because you uploaded your image in PNG, or sometimes your website is not compatible with other devices, and so on.

If you are on a budget then I would advise focusing on a Medium account more than a blog. Even writers here are consistently active even though they have blogs. This proves the importance of having a Medium blog not only for writers but whoever wants to make money online.

Medium is the simplest of all! For YouTube, you need to write the script and record it in a quiet room. Editing video is a daunting task. On Medium, you can write even short articles and hit publish. (here, good quality is given preference)

In what ways you can make money on Medium?

  1. Medium Partner’s Program — See the complete list of the countries on the Medium Official page
  2. Affiliate Marketing — Make sure you disclose your affiliate links and also do not add affiliate links to all articles. Medium is a platform where people share their personal stories and knowledge. So writing with only a focus on marketing won’t work.
  3. Sell your products or services —If you want to sell your products/ebooks, you can go for Amazon KDP. If you want to sell your services then go for Fiverr. But you need to do both then go with Medium. Medium gives you tons of exposure. Of course, consistency is needed from your side. You can even sell your products directly to your audience using Gumroad.

So, how do you grow on Medium? My 30–30–30 rule

I’ll try to keep it short and to the point.

  1. 30-minute reading — You cannot make money on Medium until you are a reader. You read, you apply and then you share. Reading is a must. I’ll advise you to join newsletters. Many Medium writers have newsletters and this helps a lot to learn and grow.
  2. 30-minute engagement — You engage with other medium writers and they will do the same for you. Medium is a community. If you help others grow, this comes back to you threefold!
  3. 30-minute writing — If you are a completely new writer and don’t know what to write I would suggest having 30 minutes of writing session every single day. Maybe you have a job, and other family responsibilities and I think 30 minutes of writing practice is the best solution if you wanna grow as a writer. Start with small content. In 30 minutes, you can write about your today’s plan or share some useful knowledge that you already have. Just 30 minutes and then increase it slowly. The more you work the more you’ll make. I promise.

Conclusion

I would suggest to give Medium a try. Consider whether it has any other platforms. Your Medium Portfolio will help you showcase your work. This will help a lot in the long run.

Hope you will start small. Hope you will reach your Medium goals! 2024 is coming. Add one more income stream to your portfolio. No better time to start than now!
