There’s nothing I find sweeter than being Jamaican!🇯🇲 Especially when our favorite fruits are in season!!
Have you ever tried one of these? They are called Tamarind Balls!
Tamarind is a hardwood tree indigenous to the Caribbean, Asia and Africa that bears an edible face-crinkling sour fruit that’s more potent than any of your favorite sour candy.
The tamarind fruit bears in early spring to late fall (March, through early summer in July).
To balance it’s natural sour taste, we mix the flesh of the fruit together with white sugar, rolling the mixture into a bitesized ball to create a sour-sweet candy.
