Link In Bio tools

Over the last 5 years, I’ve been helping people grow their businesses using social media. And my primary tool to do so was Linktree.

For all these years, I was sure that, despite some shortcomings, Linktree had everything I needed.

When I was starting my business, there were almost no alternatives to Linktree. But last week a buddy of mine showed me some new tools available, and they blew my mind.

Why you need a Linktree alternative

Linktree profiles

One of my biggest problems with Linktree over the years was customization. There are always clients who want something unique. You know — a custom design, a specific image, a personal domain, or multiple pages with different features.

And I used to tell them that Link in bio tools are simple apps; they cannot replace websites. But I was wrong!

Also, while using Linktree, I used to tell my clients that there were only two options to get payments: credit card or PayPal. Yeah, we lost some sales from countries with no PayPal, but I thought we couldn’t do anything about it. And I was wrong again!

So, after realizing how close-minded I was, I decided to dive deep into that huge Link-In-Bio market. And let me tell you, I found some gems!

Best Linktree alternatives today

To build a successful online business, you need specific tools besides simple clickable links. So, while looking through these Linktree alternatives, I searched for certain things.

The three main criteria were:

  1. Customization. How far can I go with designs?
  2. Features. What does the app have besides simple links?
  3. Price. How much do I have to pay for it?

All 5 apps in the list are great, but to make your life easier, I arranged the alternatives from best to worst. Enjoy!

#1. Taplink

Taplink profiles
taplink.at

When I saw that Taplink positions itself as a tool to “create a high converting landing page and transform your visitors into customers,” I was hooked.

Customization

You can change everything: fonts, colors, or images to represent your brand. Taplink also provides users with 380 fully customizable prebuild designs and 60 business templates.

Features

Taplink is not short on features either. It allows you to use custom maps, create FAQ and review sections, and embed video and music content.

Oh, you can also use a custom domain if you have one.

While the main goal of Linktree is to create a single page with all your links, Taplink allows you to make multiple pages and edit each of them.

Also, aside from must-have add-ons like messaging apps, forms, and statistics, you can use 50+ different payment processors to sell all around the world.

And if you sell digital products, Taplink lets you automate the whole process and sell the products right on your page. All you need to do is upload the files (or add links) to Taplink, fill in the basic info (name, image, description), set the price, and connect some payment providers. Everything else, from receiving payment to delivering the products, will be done by Taplink.

Price

When I saw how powerful of a tool Taplink is, I thought the price was going to be crazy. But it’s not.

There’s a free version that lets you create your page with some restrictions.

The Pro plan is $3 a month. And Business is $6.

For comparison, Linktree’s Starter account costs $5 per month. Pro is $9 per month. And Premium is $24/month.

Pros

  • Huge library of 380 prebuilt designs and 60 custom templates;
  • 18 extra tools beside links (text, images, sliders, videos, digital products, etc.)
  • Business add-ons (statistics, payment processors, email marketing, etc.)
  • Multiple pages;
  • Free version available.

Cons

  • Some useful features (like real-time analytics to track link performance) are only available in paid versions;
  • It took me some time to get used to a different interface. But that’s just because I’ve been using Linktree for too long. Every new app feels weird to me now.

#2. Shor.by

Shor.by profiles
shor.by

Shor.by was created to be a Linktree alternative. They wanted to be similar but better.

Customization

Because of that, their customization options are as limited as Linktree’s. They go for a minimalistic look with no templates. A simple gradient or an image is all you can use for your background.

Features

Shor.by also has lots of features. It allows you to show different media, from videos to podcasts and Shopify stores. But for some reason, there are no options to receive payment whatsoever.

Same as Taplink, Shor.by allows you to create more than one page, but how many of them you can use depends on your plan.

Price

Interestingly enough, Shor.by doesn’t give you anything for free.

Their price options start at $12 a month. And if you’re thinking of using statistics or want to show some media, be ready to pay $24 per month. Their most expensive plan costs $82 a month.

Honestly, after Linktree (and Taplink), I just can’t see why I would pay so much more.

Pros

  • Lots of features;
  • Minimalistic look;
  • Multiple pages.

Cons

  • No free version;
  • Poor customization options;
  • No payment processors.

#3. Beacons

Beacons profiles
beacons.ai

Beacons is built with content in mind. This Linktree alternative’s goal is to help influencers and content creators stay in touch with their followers and sell products online.

Customization

Even their customization options are built around content creation. All designs are structured by themes (gaming, music, fashion, etc.). Again, it’s pretty minimalistic, but at least original.

Features

Beacons has some unique features like follower count. They have powerful analytics and allow creators to embed their content from many platforms.

To sell the products, you have to be able to receive payments. So Beacons provides users with 4 options:

  • Credit cards
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • PayPal

Price

When it comes to price, Beacons has just 2 options:

  1. Free. Basic features;
  2. Pro. Extra features for $10 per month.

Pros

  • Unique features;
  • Multiple pages;
  • Free version available.

Cons

  • Basic customization options;
  • Only 4 payment processors.

#4. Carrd

Carrd profiles
carrd.co

Carrd is a complex tool for creating one-page websites. People often use it as a simple alternative to Lintree, but it’s more than that.

Customization

Similar to Taplink, Carrd gives users a set of templates they can customize. Fonts, images, and colors can be changed.

Unfortunately, Carrd only works as a single-page website. So you have to put all your content on the same page, one block after another. There’s no way to create different landing pages for your products.

Features

Carrd also provides a wide range of features (like Analytics and forms), but to the Pro-users only.

Price

In terms of price, Carrd comes in two versions:

  1. Free. A simple page without widgets or statistics;
  2. Pro. All the extra add-ons and a custom domain to create a powerful one-page website for $10 a month.

Pros

  • 138 prebuit templates;
  • Wide range of features;
  • Free version.

Cons

  • One page per site only;
  • Statistics is only available to Pro users.

#5. Milkshake

Milkshake profiles
milkshake.app

Using Milkshake, you don’t just create pages — you create cards. This unique design idea allows them to stand out.

Customization

For customization, Milkshake offers 17 original themes that can be edited. Images, titles, and links can be added to all the cards.

But the biggest problem with Milkshake is the fact that it doesn’t have a Desktop version, so you cannot edit it in your browser. The only way to do it is through the official app on your phone.

Features

Milkshake has some useful but simple features. It provides statistics but doesn’t let you receive payments. It lets you create up to 5 cards, but their designs are pretty limited.

Price

Milkshake is free, but you can pay $2.50 to remove their logo from your page.

Pros

  • Unique design idea;
  • Easy to use;
  • Multiple pages;
  • Free version.

Cons

  • Poor customization options;
  • No Desktop version; only available through the app;
  • No payment processors;
  • 5 pages max.

Which Linktree alternative is best?

Here’s a comparison table with all the info, so you can choose the best alternative for yourself!

So, if you are looking for a fully customizable multi-page website with prebuilt templates and lots of features, Taplink is your choice.

If you need a simple app to connect to your fans, then you should try Beacons or Milkshake.

If your goal is to create a single-page website, then use Carrd.

And if you want to stick to the same basic Linktree design and are ready to pay extra, use Shor.by.
