I flirted with the idea of going freelance for a while and, after over ten years of working as an agency-based web developer, I finally did it. Since then I’ve been riding the crest of a wave for the last year, where I may as well have been working full-time.
Since leaving the shackles of the 9-5, I’ve still had permanent jobs thrust under my nose and whilst I’m currently very happy freelancing, I’ve never dismissed the idea of returning to full-time/permanent work. It would just take the right position for me to switch back.

Last week I read an article on Medium, the first to really (irrationally) irk me. It wasn’t so much the content, but the title: 20 Things I Wish I Knew When I Was 20*.
Why would anyone want to wish away the time spent learning and becoming who you are? Sure those 20 things you now know would have been great at 20, but then you’d never have lived them to experience what you did to learn those lessons. Those moments, the regrets, the successes are all what make you. Plus, some of them just seemed daft.
